Uganda spurred into action following Rebecca Cheptegei's death
Earlier this year, Uganda lost one of its national athletics runners, Rebecca Cheptegei, to gender-based violence. Cheptegei’s death strengthened calls for the protection of female runners and brought together the athletics federation and members of society to actively address the problem.
