  2. But she wants the estate to be sold ,it's not what the mom would have wanted …not to say it's okay to disinherit
But mama stop fighting your mom left you a much bigger inheritance her legacy, her work ethic…it's not worth the fight if it's taken years !!
    Fanya kazi
Mom would have taken your dad half of his assets she didn't .

  3. I can relate to a similar painful experience. However, I attribute the challenges to the Kenyan judiciary in Nakuru, where our signatures were forged to distribute the properties unfairly. The women in our family inherited only 10% of what my brothers did, and it took us 17 years just to acquire the titles. They had to cooperate with my stepmother, who was married to my father for just a year, and her daughter, who is older than me, ended up inheriting more than the women in our family.

As for my brothers and stepmother today, only God can help them with what they're facing now. On the other hand, all the women in our family are blessed and thriving. My personal goal and dream are to build wealth that is ten times greater than what my father had, because there is God in heaven. I have come to learn that It is not what you leave to your children that matters, but what you leave in them.

  4. Been there. A sister and brother tried to do the same. Won the case, we were all entitled to equal distribution of the land. This was recently. You won the day your mom passed away, unfortunately. The law actually works.

  5. The brothers are just greedy. And being Men they should buy their own properties. how do you have a good job and then come fight your only sister because of what a divorced mother bought.
    Shame Shame.

  6. actually they are not treating you like this because you are a woman, they want to prove a point like 'huh do you think we're still kids? let's show her who's the kid around here, from there you have many options, but I'll let you decide that for yourself, thx.

  7. What is sadder is the lost relationship. How do you leave like strangers? Do your children talk to each other? At the end of the day, we will all leave the land – your Mum and Dad both left the land, so will you. I hope you resolve the case and get justice but much more you get your relationship with your brothers restored.

  8. This happened to my mum as well.. with her brothers. They took the land that was ment to be for her. This should STOP! As women, should be treated as queens… we go through a lot! It’s not right. No this cannot be happening!

  9. I'm so sorry for all what you have gone through…
I was working with jkia, and I believe what you are saying…
On the other hand you should thank God that they took long enough for the constitution to change, whereby you are entitled to equal inheritance with your siblings.
The court system has let us down…
I pray you will get justice.
Thanks for coming out boldly with your story.

  10. 11. These brothers are breaking the law & bringing a curse on themselves. I thought educated boys become men; I was wrong. Their extreme greed & injustice will turn back on them, hopefully very soon 😢. Kenya is still an unsafe place for women 😭

  12. This lady should be very careful, we have seen siblings murder their own for inheritance get that police report. She should make sure that she writes her own will,on who to get her inheritance (Stating everything she expects to get from her parents)for her family. The brother is a thief,i hope karma hits him so so bad.My grandfather didn't have a will, he sat all his 4 daughters and 4 sons down plus grandma and explained his will. All his daughters got 4 acres, two daughters had passed away years ago, their kids got 4 acres too.He had lost a son too his kids got 10 acres just like all sons.He said,'he doesn't care if his daughters are married, divorced, single or dead, he will never give anyone the power to call them homeless including his grandkids.'Everyone respected the old man's wish without a will.15 yrs later all is well.

  13. Her brothers are incredibly sexist and narcissistic. This is plain misogyny and male entitlement. Fight them legally to the end , you have a right to inherit your fair share .
