I never understood how an Xbox series X can push 120 fps in 4k. There is no way it is powerful enough to do that.
The G4 is excellent for watching hockey. I tune it for the uniforms and the bright ice. It made dim every 15 or 20 minutes, but it always comes back in less than a minute. If it goes to commercial it will cancel all the dimming or if they shot with the crowd. I highly recommend the G4 because I am really enjoying the Stanley Cup playoff like never before, and the dimming is an afterthought. Only after very long stretches of play will you see it dim And I am very, very fussy. I wouldn't trade this G4 for for the world, especially when it comes to watching hockey.
Great Video as usual ❤❤
Just wanted to say I have really love this series. I really learned a whole lot from watching.
always nice listening to caleb talk about tech guy knows his stuff 😎
Why TV brands,PS5 & Xbox X series are not providing Thunderbolt 4 support?
I am asking for help. I purchased the A95 L TV a month ago and it was delivered by Sony two weeks ago. This past Sunday the TV would not turn on, then I noticed the red light started blinking red 6 times, I contacted Sony and they had be do a power cycle, I turned the TV on again and a rainbow came across the middle the TV. The TV has not worked since and the red light will not stop blinking 6 times. I took pictures and submitted a case but Sony said I damaged the TV and will not replace it. I don't know what to do because no one at Sony seems to care. If anyone knows someone in management and had a contact it would be greatly appreciated. I love the videos Caleb!
Hi Caleb,
Been following the channel for a bit and now it's the time for me to buy a new TV… and I'm torn between going for the new Samsung S95D (around €2800 where I live) or last year model S95C (€1500), so almost double the price, but the S95D would come (probably) with the soundbar Q600C… but ignoring the soundbar, do you think the difference in price is worth it?
I could also get the Sony A95K for €1999 but that seems like a high price for a 2022 tv… or is this still worth it when compared to the two above?
Can you help me please?
Thank you 🙂
I now understand what moiré is… That shirt of yours was a great example to test out this TV. 😂
I really enjoy your program. Question, does LG C4 really have a green tint as you look at an angle?
When will your LG G4 Oled TV review be up?
Yo Caleb, hello from London. Where are all the tv reviews we are hungry to see like G4, S95 etc?
Thanks for the video, but what I really wanna know is where can I get one of those sweaters?🤔
Me personal i highly recommend LG oled tvs and LG soundbars
Most of those aren’t acronyms, they’re just initials. An acronym are initials that spell out a word, such as scuba or laser…
ABL on our LG C3 was going crazy with Hockey, UNTIL we changed the settings on our Roku. The constant dimming issues disappeared immediately and the picture has been perfect since. Leaving it set on the lowest setting of 4k, instead of hdr 4k extra super deluxe 😂, solved everything. Just an fyi. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
I wanted eARC to work for me but my LG B2 doesn't support DTS.
The trouble with a lot of industries is there are too many TLAs
Nice video keep up the good work
You didn't explain what AV stands for. (Laugh Out Loud – spelled it out just in case you don't know what it means. LOL)
Great video. So much knowledge!!
Hi buddy. Couple questions for ya: one, does the mfr change the brightness levels based on your “hours used” when they send out software updates?? (I ask because the 65qn90c I just got seemed to get dimmer over the past two updates)
Second, pleeeeease will you review in depth the new LG QNED TVs and compare them to the new Bravias? Please. More specifically the new LG 98QNED89T !! 🎉🎉 thank you!
If you've got hockey on your TV 8-10 hrs a day, then you've got a lot bigger problems than burn-in.
So are the weekly videos going to be one topic only? A bit of the bummer for anyone that isn't into the AV side. I liked the video and support the channel, but I didn't watch it 🙁
A really nice and informative episode of You Asked!!
I’m glad I watched it to the end 😊
Almost all of those are not acronyms, they are abbreviations… Acronyms are things you can say like a word, like NASA, an abbreviation is a series of letters like CNN…. Just thought you should know the difference !!!!!
So what are you working on in nyc? Another good video btw…
Great job with the acronyms and the awesome content, the waters aren’t as muddy today as they were yesterday!! Looking forward to the 2024 Bravia testing and reviews. Looking to purchase a Bravia 9 or 7, just need to figure out what I’ll be missing out on the 7 vs the 9!! Again great video Caleb, enjoy your working vacation!🇨🇦
Do have a setting list for qm8
Up till recently I’ve been interested in all this. Watching channels like this makes me realize that this whole topic is… 4th world problem. At the very least. Channels like this should not even exist.
But I keep watching… 😅
Thanks for the explanation and all the great content!
Thank you for selecting this TV acronym info, yeah, e-TLAs need their own Oxford dictionary, since by now we have all ventured into the vast lexicon of quad-TLAs.
I miss my old 2010-ish Visio which had more connectivity included than many of the Smart-TVs offered today, anyway it recently went dark on us and I got my marching orders from the boss. Yeah, I see the trend of embedded streaming as a warning sign for consumers, but nowadays subscription lock-in is more important than anything, so it seems, including kick-backs for Smart-TV manufactures.
So while I was deep into the online Google & Youtube shopping since the boss wanted a new TV of course I ran into glorious channels like Digital Trends including learned presenters such as yourself (shameless plug – no charge) I ran into the "e-ARC" connector wonderment in the HDMI connector magazine area and promptly dismissed it internally thinking I'll figure that out later. So then I got the replacement Smart TV (because due to streaming subscription lock-ins from tech-data-sucking giants where the market says 'no more port heavy TV monitors for you!') and of course, not researching the e-ARC nomenclature meaning. Yeah , it was last years QN90C, also reviewed on D.Trends channel. Like it so far in spite of my boomer learning curve internals. But most important is the boss likes it including her sub-commander gen-xer. Whew.
So now I have a clue on the eARC connector. Thanks.✅
Caleb is so dedicated to helping us evaluate TVs that he wore a moire-inducing shirt so he can be a test pattern while he talks.
Uh, actually, most of these are initialisms and not acronyms.
Can you list the types of TV's by quality, starting with OLED and going through the various
types of LED's? There are so many it is confusing to a non tech person like myself????😎
Hockey has Games, not “matches.” lol
Question, I don't know if you can answer or not, I currently have 55inch Sony x90k, best tv that I have ever owned. I have had it about two years now. I am considering upgrading to a 65 inch Sony, however with all of the choices it is confusing. I believe that that I can't go too far wrong. I mostly watch cable news channels, youtube and netflix in a bright room. When I first started to consider this upgrade I thought that I would just go for the Sony A95L. Now with the new releases as well as some discounts on the x93L and A80L, I am confused which one makes the most sense. The Bravia 9, 8, 7, or A95L or x93L. Money is not that much of a consideration, however I also don't see need to pay extra if a lower priced model is in picture quality to the top to f the line. Any thoughts are appreciated.
I've noticed that watching Curling, the ice color isn't as bright white as in Hockey Games.
I'd like to clarify that an "acronym" is pronounced as a word such as SCUBA, FEMA, NASA or ASAP vs. other abbreviations where you pronounce the individual letters, such as FBI, CIA, NAACP, etc.
I prefer the old format with various topics/questions, but I appreciate all the content and knowledge either way.
Love what you do
Thanks Caleb for taking the time to explain TV terminology😊
I disagree with that recomndation, I have both OLED and Mini LED tvs and when you are watching sports especially hockey the ABL is noticable and its distracting. When it comes to watching sports a mini led tv is a better choice its brighter and you dont have to worry about ABL tell the person to get a LED TV.
Does the optical cable offers better audio quality than HDMI?
