  1. Thank you so much. I was taught to make this by gypsies in the South of France, 40 years ago (a lot of Algerians, not so much Tunisians but was like this recipe). My dad asked me to write down the recipe for the couscous and I wrote "do what it says on the packet"!! How many times have i wished I'd written this down. I've never been able to remember. Bless you, that's fantastic, I've made the casserole part today but next time will get a couscousiere. (Although my gypsy friends used a colander and tea towel). Many thanks.

  2. Really enjoyed making this, thank you! I need to get one of those steamers. Also, is it traditional to only have paprika as the spice or a mix of spices? as I have seen conflicting things online! thank you x

  3. This is an amazing recipe! I just made couscous for the very first time in my life and followed this recipe(used chicken instead of lamb) It was a huge success and my mom's Tunesian husband was pleased as well. Thank you for sharing this. 💖🙏

  4. Salem sister I fro Algeria living in USA
Sorry to say that it’s ok Tunisian couscous is not that bed but don’t say it’s the best in the world
Because the origin of couscous is Algerian which is we made it more better than every one and don’t forget we are qualified between the first best cooking in the world even with sweet
    So plz don’t exaggerate

  5. Masha Allah This looks so nice. I want to know which oil you are using to fry the peppers in at the beginning please? Also, I want to add some cabbage to mine. Shall I leave it until last to add the cabbage? What are the cloves you are using in the cous cous called? Jazakallakhair

  6. Hi Eya, Thank you for this delicious recipe! I watched the Arabic version too and have a question, You mentioned that sometimes beside the cloves you add another spice/herb for steaming the couscous, "shous al ward", how is it called in english please?

  7. I just made this! it was so simple and easy to make. My family is from morocco but a good portion of my childhood was spent with Tunisian family friends. I havent had Tunisian couscous ever since!

  8. I tried this recipe and it seemed very lacking in flavor. No ras al hanout, caraway, cinnamon, etc. I found a recipe from Chef Mounir at Baroque restaurant in Tunis that includes all of those things and the difference was like night and day!

  9. My husband is tunisien and I'm russian so he's always cooking poor man so tierd he works alot now i will be able to prepare supper for him he eats nothing but tunisien food😀

  10. I thought that Moroccan spice/seasoning or an alternative/equivalent would be used in this recipe instead of just paprika. Beautiful pan though!
