Great story of the Eddie Chapman affair during the Second World War. Unlike James Bond this guy actually existed and the film is pretty close to the truth. Chapman was a real war hero whose brilliant work as double agent completely fooled the Germans.
What is with the weird censorship?

As predicted, he mixed with blackmailers and thieves and got into trouble with the police for various crimes, including smuggling gold across the Mediterranean in 1950.[23]

used to be a power. now, hopeless weak foothold of Islamist extremists. What a shame.
They don’t make them like this anymore!
Yul Brynner, good until his death in this movie.
At best a Spy Thriller. No James Bond or Where Eagles Dare, but it keeps you guessing the whole time up to the last minutes of the film.
Papa used to do that…. Blow safes and bank vaults… 48 of them. Back in the 50's.
He used to leave a note…."It was Bill Sykes"

Wonderful 'caper' film which while set in the 1940's is very much 1960's in sensibilities.
