I don't know why but I felt a negative vibe in your description keep saying 3rd world country and 24 hrs is enough. Twenty-four hours is not enough time to experience the culture and the city. If you are interested in seeing shiny glass skyscrapers, then go to Dubai, not Ethiopia. But, what you fail to appreciate is Africans own everything you saw in Addis. Black people like you own the businesses and buildings you described negatively. If you return with a positive vibe next time, perhaps you'd experience an unadulterated African culture, an African nation with its written alphabet, calendar, and food.
