Toyota technically makes 1 electric car but it really feels like they don’t want to

  1. Definitely a hybrid camp…1st in developed countries there is some hope for EVS, but not in developing ones like my country India. 2nd evs just don't give the feel and emotional connection with the car like ice ones and as a car enthusiast what is the point of buying a car when it does not have a melody coming from the exhaust 3rd evs are actually more harmful to the environment if we consider the whole process from building one to destroying one…for me, there's no future in a 100% ev but there's definitely a bright future for hybrid as it combines the best of both worlds…a great example is bmw xm, that beast of a car which is a hybrid with a v8 gives a milage of 60kmpl and that is just perfect

  2. Peice of crap. I waited 14 months for the Premier edition. Sold it 9 months later. The mileage is shit, charging speeds shit and it STOPPED 5 times in 8 months just dead on the road.. fuck it!

  3. I first test drove the Model Y because I wanted one for years. Good EV, garbage of a car. I bought a BZ4X because it's an amazing car (that happens to be electric.) I'm perfectly satisfied with the range for city driving, I honestly have less "range anxiety" for daily driving than I do in our ICE vehicles.

  4. No hybrids for me ever again. Hybrids come with all of the headaches of traditional gasoline cars. Lots of inconveniences with maintenance and gasoline seesaw gas prices and going to gas stations where a lot of weirdo’s and crime can be found. I charge my fully electric car at home 99% of the time. No way I would ever give up that pleasurable convenience just because car makers don’t want to give up making money on routine maintenance on cars with gasoline engines, radiators, belts and transmissions. I’m not about to be tricked into cars that are still money pits.

  5. There is a design flaw with the bz4x. While using the adaptive cruise control above 55mph in the rain, the "system" at a certain point can no longer detect a car/objects in front of the vehicle. I have caught my bz4x accelerating towards the back of the car/truck in front of me. If your settings for the adaptive cruise control acceleration is set to HIGH you could potentially rear end a vehicle that is traveling slower than the preset mph 🤔 Also curve detection makes the car break and then accelrate based on the steering input. So if you over correct while "Lane Keep Assist" steps in you could find your car crossing over the lane or worst. Anyway just my 2 cents after spending over 6 months with the bz4x 😊

  6. All in on the hybrids. I actually wish more luxury vehicles would make hybrids. I’m Lexus hybrids are pretty much the only cars I really consider. Or Toyota SUVs. Electric only makes sense if you have a garage as well. Limits a large portion of the population.

  7. I'm sorry I'm in the "all electric camp." And trust me I get the brand loyalty aspect – I drove my first Chevy One ton truck when I was 7; if you looked at my blood you would see bow ties in it; BUT the Tesla model Y long range dual motor has 310 miles of advertised range; and more room inside; the Tesla charging network + with an adapter you can use the CCS DCFC networks. I've seen the BZ4X up close but sat in the Subaru Solterra; it was a tight fit compared to the Tesla. And Tesla with more range qualifies for the $7500 Fed tax incentive. Our Ford Escape had buttons; the Toyota has buttons; and yes sometimes I need to take a "chill pill" and remember to use voice commands or the other shortcuts to get the car to do the thing that I'm looking for BUT the car just "works"; and we haul stuff; and the dogs; and it goes in the snow and it charges at 240KW (when you use a charger that can deliver that much energy) but like other people say – you get home you plug it in – it charges at night – and you leave in the morning to drive everywhere you need to go. I'm not saying the BZ4X is a bad car or that the Model Y is the best car; I'm just saying its 2024 and there are EVs out there that have move to offer. And when you consider you might want to keep this investment for a while, why not get the vehicle that has more to offer.

  8. You are tech guy just don't get into automotive industry. It is not your territory nor your field of expertise with respect. Honestly, you sucks in reviewing cars

  9. Here's what a Toyota factory manager told me when I visted him in their plant in Indonesia.
This was during all the EV hype about 3-4 years ago.
We were targeting auto manufacturers to try and get them to invest in some new EV related equipment.
The Japanese guy who was one of the top dude in Toyota Indonesia just told me when I asked him "so is Toyota producing EVs in Japan?" he just informed to me "they have no interest in EVs, it's a technology in its infancy still, and they feel that there will be too much R&D involved to get it to a level where people will be happy with the tech. Also, they don't trust the tech to be "green" enough. The battery is definitely cleaner than a petrol car, but it's not gonna be clean when you remove it from the car when the car is scrapped or goes to the dump.

  10. I just picked up mine with limited awd option, no issue with range . Super comfortable and has good interior quality , I can’t understand people who’s complaining about range bc if you getting base tesla it has kind of same range and I had to drive Tesla model y for 3 months and my decision is bz4x
