The UN’s top court ordered Israel to “take all measures” to prevent genocide in Gaza, but stopped short of calling for Israel to suspend its military campaign in the war-torn enclave. #CNN #News

  1. CNN is such a joke. I searched CNN ICJ and the only videos that came up are these ones from 3 weeks ago, where they barely say anything and make the issue seem muddied.
No wonder older Americans who watch cable news have tuned out when a genocide is happening. Shame on you CNN.

  2. In a related story, apparently, new information has come to light, showcasing how Israel never provided sufficient evidence to support their claim that UNRWA employees were directly involved in the events of October 7th.

Coincidentally enough, Israel came out with this allegation just after the ICJ told them to curb their genocidal acts in Gaza.

The article is entitled, "Scandal': Israeli Dossier 'Provides No Evidence' for Claims Against UNRWA Staff: 'People in Gaza are starving, and because of spurious allegations made in a dodgy dossier, they will experience worse hunger.'"

Here's just a taste, Dan, and others, of that story: "The UNRWA is reportedly set to lose $65 million by the end of February as donors' funding cuts take effect, imperiling the agency's operations in Gaza and across the Middle East.

"Channel 4 noted Monday that all 13,000 of UNRWA's Gaza employees' names 'have been checked against the U.N. terrorism list and, as recently as last May, were vetted and approved by Israel.'

"The Daily Beast also obtained a copy of the Israeli dossier and—similar to Channel 4—reported Tuesday that it 'includes little evidence to back up' Israel's allegations against UNRWA employees.

"Ashish Prashar, a spokesperson for Gaza Voices, said in response to the new reporting that 'we now know that the document used to suspend funding to UNRWA "provides no evidence."'

"'This is the latest campaign in a decades-long attack on UNRWA by Israel and a subset of the broader campaign to eliminate the Palestinian refugee issue,' said Prashar. 'People in Gaza are starving, and because of spurious allegations made in a dodgy dossier, they will experience worse hunger. This scandal should lead to resignations from officials in the U.S., UK, Germany, and elsewhere who all suspended funding to a besieged people experiencing a genocide as a result of a baseless accusation by the génocidaires themselves.'"

If you wish to read more of this scathing report, you know where to find it.

  3. So ICJ orders Israel to prevent Genocide in which they have been doing from the get go. WHAT!! talking about bootlicking Zionist puppets. they gave you all the undeniable facts of Israel committing Genocide, Apartheid, Ethnic cleansing and this is what you have to say instead of Charging them with war crimes damn cowards.

  4. and you didn't even show the South Africa case…only one side. You do know that no one watches your cable news anymore because you only give the corporate, neoliberal side of every story right? And downplay an extraordinary, historical story like this court ruling to talk for days about (unsubstantiated Israeli propaganda) 12 of the 13,000 UNHRA employees have ties to Oct 7 attack. You're not NEWS anymore, you're nothing but warmongering spin…

  5. But they aren’t doing genocide they aren’t saying from the river to the sea Israel will be free 😂 they trying to get the hostages and take out hamas who happens to be hiding in civilian areas like hospitals. Should Israel not try to get rid of hamas and get their people back?! I’m not even Jewish and see that. That’s Hamas propaganda the UN is pushing.

  6. Israel Governments commits multiple acts of purjury, providing absolute falsified fabrications in defence at the ICJ hearing. No government of this level of corruption can remain in office.

  7. South Africa is committing genocide against whites.
Turkey is committing genocide against Armenians.
China is committing a genocide with fentanyl in U.S

  8. The Genocide was on Oct 07 by Hamas where over 2,500 Jews died on that one day they were unprepared as at an out door concert ,was about to happen over 400 captured and tortured slowly since that day and many still not released , Palestinians asked to leave and Hamas kept them from leaving.Their first to kill were 22 Jewish babies in a orphanage heads and body parts severed off were these innocents enemies did they attack them no ,devils advocate barbarism woo to those who pre-sue evil and make it right devils work no truth hearts of stone no conscience

  9. Dont forget the empty UN building in 2003–"this whole thing" is an obstruction of justice without regard for human life (interfered with ALL rescue attempts to override) My analysis? …its a pan-African terror operation

  10. It is hypocritical and utterly inhumane that the west is quick to cut off funds to UNRWA when Israeli accuses. But on the other hand, such action are not even remotely considered when Israel is accused of genocide in the ICJ! What a conundrum! What an irony. Might is right!

  11. Assad killed 350 thousand innocents in Syria and UN did nothing. This is a CNN biased news as UN said Israel has the right to defend itself. If Hamas wants peace should release civil hostages that is a war crime.

  12. I am curious about Gaza’s future. How much power and influence will Israel have over Gaza’s leadership and education? Does Israel have the right to restrict Palestine’s autonomy?

  13. The ICJ preliminary result is profound— by their own actions and words the court have ruled this is a plausible case of Genocide (which they will be investigating and deliberating on) that's already extremely profound and serious, and in spite of this they still decided not to call for an outright ceasefire 👀wow! (just think about that for a second)— AND this is thee court of Intl law, the hallowed grounds where Laws regarding Occupied territories and treatment of occupied people (as well as rights of resistance) are supposed to count for something, but apparently none of that means anything to them right now, keeping in mind this is a siege by a recognized occupation force (Israel) against already besieged and oppressed occupied peoples (Palestinians which includes all members of Hamas also); where Intl law indicates that occupiers do not actually have the legally protected right to fight back against resistance fighters inside the occupied territory of Gaza— but what really gets me is that bit where the ICJ have determined to recognize the plausibility this might be a genocide and STILL didn't do the bare minimum it could do to order them to ceasefire.. politics and diplomacy is all nuance I get it, but in a question of plausible genocides how much nuance can there really be.. literally the whole point and way the Genocide convention is constructed is in order to prevent genocides before or in the midst of taking place 🙄 (that's why no states party to the convention ever usually make this accusation, because it comes attached to legal obligations to follow up and pursue the matter in the ICJ or take other means to halt a suspected ongoing genocide— 'see something, say something'), yet the ICJ have in a real sense given licence to Israel to continue with a plausible genocide —— on the other side of all this, if you're a defender of Israel this isn't necessarily a good thing because Israel have still been given the hard word, are under serious investigation for genocide (and will have to report back in one month to show the court evidence of cooperation- basically on probation but for the worst crime that exists) and in the meantime there's a not-insignificant risk that Israel could use this freedom to commit more or further genocidal atrocities and the evidence thereof which will end up adding to the case already against them — have to understand that the Zionist regime that runs Israel and significant share of the population are so extremely (actually) Fascist nowadays and after decades of bullying and browbeating everyone in public discourse they've seemingly begun to believe so much of their own lies that their minds now operate in a parallel world where the shockingly things they get up to seems totally fine and normal for much of the Israeli public, their thinking has basically become so inbred from bouncing around inside their own echo chamber that it's gone retarded, and by giving them any rope to carry on they may indeed hang themselves

  14. Funney CN focused on this part when actually the major findinf is that there is no ceasefire ordered and no genocide is committed, that is genocide as originated by what happened to Jews in the Holocaust

  15. I love the media focus on the fact that this did not call for a cease fire. When you listen to the ruling the very first provisional measure the court calls for out Israel must prevent killing members of the group. If that is not a ceasefire then I don't know what is. Listen at the 50 second mark of the video…

  16. When it came to Russia – the ICJ was unequivocal in it's demand it immediately cease it's war on Ukraine and withdraw it's troops. Nothing like that here. That says everything you need to know. One is a war of aggression, the other is an unavoidable war of self defense. Ask yourself, why are there casualties in Gaza when Israeli troops are on the ground? Because there is fighting. And why is there fighting because Hamas is fighting and fully immerses itself within the population. If there was no Oct 7 there would be no war. If there was no Hamas there would be no war. If Hamas released its hostages this war would end quickly. If Hamas laid down it's arms and gave up it's terrorist infrastructure, the war would end. Lots missing from this soundbite piece – go read the ruling – it was unequivocal in its demand that Hamas release the hostages. The idea of genocide is so far fetched – this is just political theatre. Does a country intent on genocide warn civilians and give them time to relocate before an attack? Does it allow food and essentials through its boarded to help the "genocidal targets"? Does it put in place layers and layers of processes and procedures to ensure that every attack is legitimate, justifiable and avoids unnecessary civilian damage? Wake up people. Start using your brains.

  17. CNN doesn't have much to say about the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) being cut off because 12 employees were involved in the Oct 7 massacre's in Israel. CNN also doesn't mention, Trump cut this agency off while he was president and Biden immediately started giving them money when he came to office, just like with the Houthis. Wake up America. You can piss and moan about Trump's style all you want, but he made good calls for America. Even CNBC had a panel on this week saying Trump's economic policies were good. Look it up.

  18. They can't tell them to ceasefire because Hamas is not part of NATO so they can't really enforce it. Also with the US supporting Israel as well as major power Nations supporting Israel that would clearly indicate that they'll be complicit in what's going on to the Palestinians especially when they provided the firearms and the funds without any conditions to allow this to happen .
