Thanks, very interesting! But let's face it there are really nice people in different countries and many rude people, it all depends on who you run into! Hate to stereotype people but speaking from personal experience usually wins out. When I lived in beautiful Italy the summer of 1969 as an art student, they were very nice! The Italian men went crazy over leggy blonde American girls with their mini skirts! Though once in a boat, a bunch of Italians laughed at me when I told them I was an American! A one time incident! In Spain they were pretty much the same way..those notorious "Latin lovers"! But in France, in beautiful Paris, they were rude! They can't stand it if Americans can't speak French the proper way! And they hate the sloppy way most American tourists dress, i.e. baggy sweatpants, sneakers since that's the world renown capitol of fashion! At the time, I was also working as a fashion illustrator in NYC so I took a small workable stylish classic wardrobe! In the UK, I only ran into one rude, short tempered Englishman in London, other than that, didn't run into any rude people! The Brits put a high premium on good manners so hopefully they walk their own talk! I've known some very rude Americans esp. in this day and age, so many seem so stressed out for various reasons and have forgotten their good manners, table manners, etc. and to remember their please and thank yous! They forget their etiquette, and lack decorum! My late parents who were born in 1908, and 1910 were sticklers for good manners and my father was in the military so we had to sit up straight, elbows off the table, don't chew with your mouth open etc. Times have changed over the decades, and many have lost their moral compass! imho
