i enjoyed this, as i always loved especially seeing graham greene, jay silverheels (who was missing in this video), wes studi, and will sampson. i only wish the voiceover (ai?) could brush up on his pronunciation.
I loved the Indigenous actors in DANCES WITH WOLVES.
There was a very touching heartfelt scene I am so moved by.
Beautiful men
Michael Greyeyes (Cree), Eric Schweig (Inuit, German, Portuguese, Senegalese), Georgina, Crystle, Cody and William Lightning (Cree-Mother and children-all actors), Nathanial Arcand (Cree) to name a few more.
Back in 1992, Adam Beach played Nevada on the Canadian TV Series "North of 60" .
I love Chief Dan George.
Regretfully, though, he could be my former mother-in-law's twin. Not only that, but my ex's name is Dan.
Adam is handsome❤
In history with these wholesome tribes all over the north and south of what we call Canada and America, it says, Columbus was a liar saying he was the founder, I do hope in our future stop sugar coating history, because in these day ,it's so easy to find the past
WESTLY FRENCH Not only is he a very good looking man ,but an Awesome actor . But I think all of these men are just Great ,but I agree ,they left other Great ones out 😮😢❤
In my opinion, Adam Beach, Graham Greene, Will Sampson, Russell Means, Rodney Grant (Wind in His Hair), Wes Studi & Eric Schweig, are all tied for 1st place. Greene, Grant & Studi were in the BEST most crushingingly sad movie ever made, of course Dances With Wolves, Adam Beach was again crushing great in Windtalkers, & Russell Means & Studi, again crushing great in Last of the Mohicans & Will Sampson unforgettable in One Flew Over the Cockoo nest & "THE" ultimately sad commercial that changed how I viewed the earth.
Will Sampson also made the most heartbreaking commercial ever made (in my opinion). In this commercial, he is standing on the side of the highway in areas covered in garbage, with a tear rolling down his eye – meaning the Native Americans didn't destroy the planet with garbage like the world today. Ouch….
A Martinez (Pow Wow Highway, Longmyre), Zahn McClarnon…
😮Ke bello honbre
WesJudi. What an amazing actor! Keep up the amazing good works! 💪
How did he remember all those lines at his age ,71?
cheif dan george came out to australia in 72 for the first tent embassy gathering for us indigenous australians never forgotten rip sweet chief love all native american ppl love thunderheart too still a great movie greetings from australia guys God bless u all ☺🖤🧡❤👍🪃🦘💐🌹
Tantoo Cardinal is beautiful and so talented!
West Study grom Oklahoma is a magnificent actor. He deserves that Oscar for The Mohicans with Daniel Day Lewis.
Dear Mr. Retro Screen, it’s pronounced “Sue” St. Marie. Not Sault St. Marie.
What about Jay Silverheals?
Not a native Indian but I can say that all the people listed in video are Great actors – For me Williams Samson Jr. has to be one of the best as a kid I remember thinking that he had such a presence in the movies I watched. Yes, he was a big man but it was the way he talked and carried himself in the movies that made you focus on his character all the time
Funny thing is that back in the 70's, one of the most widely known Indians on TV was the Indian with the tear in his eye on the littering commercials. Truth be told he wasn't even an Indian. He was Italian!
At 13:17 you mention Westerman's cinematic debut but show a photo of Graham Greene.
James Garner, Burt Reynolds, and Elvis Presley also.
Eduardo Verastique is Native American. He should be on here also. A lot of Mexican's are Native Americans that speak Spanish instead of English. I have Mexican relatives that have no DNA from Spain. No connections to Mexico, they are the original Texans that speak Spanish. Texas was once Mexico.
Eddie Littlesky ??
The true Americans. The land was better without the European occupiers.
These all seem to be northern tribes. Jay Silverheels, a Navajo I believe, should have also been included. Michael Ansara was also from a southwestern tribe.
As a Canadian, I am very proud of what Graham Greene has done with and during his career. Prior to Graham becoming active in his international acting career, Harold Jay Silverheels Smith is another Ontario born first nations actor. Both men were born on the Six Nations Reserve, near Hamilton and Hagersville Ontario, but 40 years apart.
Why show a picture of Johnny Depp in a video like this?
Jay Silverheels should be on there. Did y'all know what "Tonto and Kimo Sabe" means. The Lone Ranger called his Indian partner "Tonto" which is a Spanish slang word for "stupid" Tonto called the Lone Ranger "Kimo Sabe" which means "know nothing" so the Lone Ranger and Tonto can be called "know nothing and stupid" hymm
It would be nice if the program was made to pronounce Saulte correctly as soo, not salt. 😂
They are not native at all, they are chinese immigrants, PROVEN FACT, THE REAL NATIVE IS THE WHITEMAN ALSO PROVEN FACT.
Oh NO, how could you not have Harold Smith I just cannot understand how you do not have him on this list, MIND BOGGLING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who KILLED practically eradicated the INDIANS The WHITEs
I think Jay Silverheels played as Tonto in the Lone Ranger back in the day .
Adam Beach was fantastic in Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee.
You could have included Jay Silverheels.
Great choices
Will Rogers from the Cherokee Nation should have made this list.
Oh my gosh hire a human narrator. Salt Saint Marie…….brutal listening to the computer but you have good content.
Jay Silverheels is on enough lists none of them good
The first movie I saw Adam Beach in WW2 movie based on fact called Windtalkers. It was about Native American soldiers who operated radios, they spoke in thier native tongue and the Japanese never broke the code, unfortunately if a windtalker was captured they were horrifically tortured to give up the code. I sincerely hope thier service and sacrifice have been recognised by now. Total respect 🙏
Navajo tribal members as "Code Talkers" in WW2 South Pacific…tribal holiday in their honor coming really soon…salute them brothers n sisters!! Im a proud member of said ttibe n a Vietnam veteran plus older
Sister n Brother w/ 82nd Airborne, Ft Bragg, NC….
Michael Martin "Silver Moon", actor, artist, Oklahoma
William Sampson's line in Poltergeist has always stuck with me: "I cahoot with no one"
I love Chief Dan George.
About time. There's been Latinos playing native american
Not "Anashabe", ANISHINABE. Have some respect!
William Samson legendary chief from "One flew…."!👍👍👍❤
