I was thinking Yemi is no 1
I've been trying to remember the name of a specific female singer from Africa (I feel bad for not even being able to recall which country she exactly is from) for quite some time now… I remember I came across some of her songs a long time ago, but unfortunately I didn't save them into my Spotify account. Anyways, she's got a strong, powerful voice and a hugely Grace Jones-inspired aesthetics. If someone could help me out giving me her name, I'd be profoundly grateful.

LOL thank you for offering this nice list. One can assume that you would never be able to find two people who completely agree with any choice you present. Choices are personal, and you have awakened some shallow nationalism in some viewers who disagree with you and who resort to name calling to get their point across. However, I am assuming that sparking a debate was your intention. As such, you succeeded in your mission.
Having said that, I think that this list could be expanded every month, by adding ten more female artists each month, and at the end of the year, have a huge celebration of the top 120 female artists of the year (either ranked or listed alphabetically,) as you give the criteria for naming each winner.
