To me, CAPE TOWN was PERFECT… until I saw THIS. 🇿🇦🤔

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA is quickly becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations. Not just in Africa, but for tourists around the world. Cape Town’s popularity is booming, and it’s easy to see why… But it’s not quite perfect.

I spent a month based out of Cape Town, and I quickly fell in love with so many of the things I found there….

I honestly just want to say thank you for watching! ❤ I have some more videos that maybe you will click on? And maybe also watch? 🥲

Growing up and living in South Africa shows you a crazy diversity. I grew up in a middle class family, But as an adult I'm classed an "lower class" or living on the bread line. Minimum wage is not enough to live on, even when sharing a home. I used to live in a one bedroom house with my partner and another couple and their kid. One bedroom, one bathroom, and a kitchen big enough to fit a fridge, a stove, and a basin. We slept on a single bed in the "living room". My partner has gotten a good job that pays him a bit better now, so we can afford a bachelor flat, but I haven't had money to spend on myself since I lived with my parents. The wealth disparity is massive, but people are working to change that.

You sound apologetic for not going to the townships/locations, which by the way, also have tourist catering places. Poverty is everywhere even Switzerland. The ordinary Capetonian has a love/hate relationship with tourists. The business owners love the money tourism bring but the ordinary locals not as much, due to the fact that the cost of living is high, precisely because of you, the tourist, making Cape Town the most expensive place to live in South Africa. And by the way, Cape Town is the tip of the iceberg. It's one of the few countries in the world that literally has every type of scenery imaginable. No hard feelings, just telling you how it is.

@RussianPlus

Good stuff . subscribed! love the jokes

@kathryn.wooldridge

Thank you for a lovely video and for being respectful and aware of our social issues. You won't believe how just supporting local businesses and tipping people can make a huge difference.

@HannoBisschoff

Please go visit a township. Preferably at night. Best time to soak in the vibe… Stupid white man

@conradpitzer

If white guilt was a video.

Apartheid is pronounced a-part-ate not a-part-ide. Other than that really great video.

Some rgeat commentary and video content.

@moosa9850

If you decide to visit Cape Town again, you are welcome to message me. It would be an absolute pleasure to host you so I can take you around and you can meet up with some interesting people. Kei Gangans

@simbellaz

Lion's Head was the best mountain I've ever hiked on❤ South-African here🇿🇦 Great video!!

Edit: Braai is Afrikaans for Barbeque 🙂

@Swiftie-h4x

I live in Cape Town but I am from America and right now it is breeding season for the whales so I have been seeing at least one whale every week (Orcas, Humpbacks, And Southern right whales) it is beautiful❤

@KaiCape

But good vid anyways 👍

@KaiCape

(ik it a late reply), Cape Town may have the best sights in the world but, the it has a dark reality. the living conditions for us, South Africans are just horrible and especially the Damned corrupted Government, it so corrupted that South Africa is impending it's downfall.

I’m in Cape Town right now

@MilaniFilifana

I live in Cape Town and on the 16th of October I went to Table Mountain with my class and and with the other grade 4's and my school's name is Boundary Primary School

@MTG2343

i love sa

@nicolekemp8044

as a person who was born and grew up here i remember the waterfront and winerys and how much it changed but also how much for busy it is nowadays, i can hardly walk around without getting overwhelmed or bumping into people. i still remember begging as a kid to visit the the scratch patch for gemstones and trying to fit as many of them in the tiny bag. also your pronunciation is pretty good compared to others please

@yourboifoxxo

Thanks for visiting it Man! Love cape town,
(btw i have been there)

@ben-v1t7i

A recuring point you make in this video is the wealth and inequality or disparity part, i myself who is a capetonian have to mention that it not as you think, replace those words with politics and curruption, another thing to mention is that even if my friend stays in a township we are still equal and he is my brother. as south africans we stand together strong and together we are united as one people unrelated by colour. i do love this video and the comitment also the great time you had is warming to see. much love and this isnt me being a heckler or negitive its me pulling the facts straight as a person that has lived there their whole live. lekker my bru cheers.

@CraigonDelport

I know you want to visit cities but can you visit Oudtshoorn It's not the best place and not beautiful but pls visit

@MangaSpanner

As an South African who lives in Cape Town, Our City is one of the best, But, There are a tonn of homeless and dangerous areas Near the city, As someone who lives in a pretty safe neighborhood i can say we still get crimes, and lets not talk about the Cape Flats and Mitchells Plain….

But Cape Town is still really beautiful and i would recommend our Western Cape province to anyone who is wanting to go on holiday over seas :>

@anwardaniels1394

Glad that you've brought the inequality to awareness, racism is still rife, but the 'haves' hate to bring it up, and isolate themselves from those in poverty,but continually to profit and benefit from it with low wage labour and other conveniencesb

@susannehuber3996

Everybody should go to ct once in their life.

@LadyOfTheEdits

I'm a south african who lives in western cape. I just know I'll find cringe south africans in the comments

@CorrieLiebenberg

@graemecoyne2611

Lived in Cape Town my entire life (41 years) ; aside from some time spent in the US doing some college: that being said.. this video is an absolute gem – your even-handed, conscious and impartial synopsis is certainly appreciated. Liked and Subscribed now dude!

@CodyJohannes-z7d

go to simons town its very nice you can be with penguins too

@KaiaNkomo

i live in Cape town

Glad you enjoyed our city

Hope you had a gatsby

the kind of poverty you are having at the moment in the US is frightening! for a country that considers itself the richest country in the world that's a real DISGRACE ! don't worry about us we are improving slowly but surely, as long as we don't answer to anybody! as long as we are free from colonialism we will get there soon, the next time you come to south Africa, don't come here and start talking about poverty as if there is no poverty from where you come from! relax we know what you have in the US ! so calm down and keep your TIPS for yourself, we don't need your tips bro! just come enjoy, be amazed with what you see ! then shut up and go back home!

@Loona_g.

Did you know that table mountain has more species of plants than the whole of Europe, 1 of the flowers has over 150 different types and thats 1 FLOWER

@UkhoMlumiso

I actually saw myself in the video 😂

1:55 lady in shock was my absolute favorite part. Great video!

@fernanddurler4709

Dude get your facts right…the townships have increased 100 times with new government they allow illegals in so they can get the vote and thereby ct is a crime capital of Africa next to Johannesburg . The new government is wayyy worse than apartheid except we cant use that word when being a white person largely being butchered and slaughtered all over the farming comminuted and yet the world sais nothing and overseas journalists remain silent!! How the hell does that work then…I’m sick of the woke and new generation jumping on top of that over used word apartheid when knowing nothing about the real history ….dont forget the first people to start slavery in Africa were blacks from Mali.

@KateLax-fg1mw

I live in cape town

@Divaz.DiorDti

Im sorry but i cant help but to laugh at your pronunciations of the places and food in our country😭

@MaryamMokoa

I live in Cape Town, I'm in Cape Town 😑

@aviation-867

This is such a good video about our mother city cape town but i hope you got to visit some of the museums because they are gems

@TommyLikeTom

The amount of money you spent on this trip is most likely 10X more than I have ever actually possessed

@TommyLikeTom

You probably drove past my house multiple times. That red bus goes by my house every day

@TommyLikeTom

It's literally the most unequal place on Earth. Cape Town is like Israel, and Khayalicha is like Palestine.
Apartheid began the same year Israel became a country, the same year Orwell wrote 1984

@TommyLikeTom

Lol, come here in Winter 🤣 It's one of the most brutal winter's on the continent
