Thousands flee in eastern DR Congo as M23 rebels advance near Goma
The Democratic Republic of Congo’s government says it’s taken back control of a crucial town in the east.
Sake was surrounded by M23 rebels during heavy fighting with government troops.
Thousands of civilians have fled to the North Kivu capital Goma as the fighting intensifies.

Glad that the SANDF plays it's role in SADC. But where is the Church. 79,8% of South Africans said they are Christian. 92% of DRC people are Christian. There are EU companies who supply heavy guns to Rwanda terrorists of M23 so they can continue the LOOTING of minerals for them ! 30 years and $ 30 billion spended, but those UN forces did nothing. In place of supporting the DRC Army, the UN prefered 30 years long to put the DRC under MILITARY GUNS EMBARGO ! So they can keep him WEAK and give advantage to Rwanda and Ouganda for LOOTING minerals ! Today the President FELIX TSHISEKEDI is doing his best to build a NEW and YOUNG DRC ARMY ! That why the DRC still need help of other countries. All of this WAR is manager by the USA (Bill Clinton), EU (Sarkozy of France), UK (Tony Blair), and Australia… They don't want the DRC takes control of his minerals, otherwise he becomes RICH and STRONGER like CHINA !

Too many fingers in the pie in the Congo. They are robbing it mercilessly from governments, conglomerates, politicians . The Congolese people have been abused by the Belgians , and a plethora of international thieves with the colluding influences of neighbouring states of Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi to name a few. The scourge of child rape and labour goes on unabated and whoever is responsible in their greedy interest to profit from such a situation has blood on their hands. A country blessed with the largest concentration of natural resources is one of the poorest on earth. It doesn't matter what interest is represented these bare facts is a shameful situation for all Africans not only the people of DRC. It sets a president that the great mismanagement of African resources is still on in earnest and Africans cannot come collectively to remove the shame from our faces. The living standard of the average Congolese is woefully poor. I am afraid lives got to be lost by true patriots before this country is not taken over and owned by foreign governments and not the Congolese people. The tribal excuse for division should be put in the dustbins of history because there is only one tribe in Africa to conscious people, The African Tribe , working for common interest.
North kivu belongs to kinyarwanda speaking people.
M23 has a reason to fight and that reason and right is not to be condemned and discriminated by it's own country. These guys can fight until their last breath and this is like having truth and greediness fighting. Those guys are welcome everywhere but still even bear Congolese flags and bracelet with congo flag wherever they're and can not deny their mother nationality and you are telling me God is not after these people?
M23 rebels have no heavy guns unless they're being supplied by a stronger army, like RPF!

Congolese should put their lives at risk and deal with all the enemies especially Rwandan once and for all.
