This Mormon Basketball Team was the Best in the Country.

2020 Montverde. 2016 Chino Hills. Some of the best high school basketball teams of all time. What if I told you that a random school in Utah with a roster full of Mormons belongs in that conversation? Do you know the story of Lone Peak?

  1. Just for awareness, it is not Mormonism, but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. We don't worship the prophet Mormon, who is one of the writers of the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. If ya'll can refer to us as LDS or Latter-day-Saints, that would be great This was a sick video too I love TJ Haws!

  2. its important to note that lone peak is like the premier sports highschool in the entire Salt lake area, and saying alpine only has 10,000 people is disengenuous because utah county has hundreds of thousands of people

  3. Emery and Haws come from basketball families. Inch for inch, pound for pound, Marty Haws (BYU 89-90) may still be the best basketball player I've ever seen.

  4. I was a junior in high school that year, went to Davis High (#2 seed in the state, behind these juggernauts). I played in the pep-band and had a buddy go through how he totally thought we could beat them. Game started. Next thing we knew, they were up 30. Then half time rolled around. They were a crazy team to watch

  5. All the byu fans were drooling over these 3 and making how many sweet 16s and final fours this “best team in the nation” 3 best players would make. Answer was zero

  6. Leave it to a mormon to pat himself and his corrupt cronies on the back! Living here in Idaho, we have as many mormons as Utah, so we've learned to watch our 6! The only reason these jokers go on a 2 year mission is to learn the 2nd language that the corrupt US gov so desperately requires when spying on people in other countries and here at home! Why else did they move the entire 200,000 member spy agency to BYU? Do your homework people, these creeps are as evil as it comes and they are nothing more than wolves in sheep clothing!

  7. Since Heavenly Father blessed us with the freedoms of the United States you have the liberty to choose what you believe to be the right thing for you but I bear testimony to you that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true restored church of God I know that Jesus Christ is our savior and loves each of us no matter what we do and his arm of mercy is continually extended towards us I know that the Book of Mormon is a sacred text and testament of the Lamb of God I know that the Bible and Book of Mormon compliment each other and complete each other Christ is our savior and advocate with the father I love you and may our father that loves you bless you in the sacred name of the son of the most high god, Jesus Christ, Amen.

  8. What if I told you they all have the same dad? What if I told you Mormonism is a joke religion used for greed and profit? What if I told you Mormonism is just a cult? What if….

  9. Man, I respect the dedication to their faith and all, but imagine had they all gone straight to playing college ball when they had graduated and they grew and developed together. I think God would understand and opportunity like that. Lol

  10. From utah. By utah standards they were good. But utah doesnt have high end talent like tons of basketball states. So their competition was likely future d1 role players at best. Utah is well rounded in terms of basketball but you hardly ever see top end talent professionally come out of utah. I think that high school team was one of the most overhyped teams ever.

  11. In 1978 the Mormon church was told if they don’t stop treating blacks with equality in their “church,” they would lose their religious tax exception. What happened? They changed their BELIEFS AND RELIGION to maintain the exemption. Funny how a RELIGION that everyone believed in was wrong… magically. Why a black kid would want to play there is beyond me.
