  1. I've found that some of the black men that I've dated who took the step to go to therapy, wouldn't even talk about the necessary things with their therapist. It was almost used as a badge of honor to simply say that they were going, but when realizing they don't fully confide in their therapist, or that they're not doing the things their therapist suggests, I came to the conclusion not everyone can be fixed. It was actually my therapist (a black woman) who suggested I start dating outside my race. Instead, I've just simply stopped dating altogether. I think society as a whole is broken and it's no longer worth the hassle of getting to know someone only to have to coach them through their trauma. I think the biggest problem is so many people don't even realize they are one of these people.
