How about the exterminator asking for a tip ? What! I pay a ton for service and now they are asking for a tip. I will shopping around for a new company. I am an automotive technician should I be asking for a tip for repairing your vehicle?
Tipping is for ongoing service beyond what is expected. Asking for a tip is tacky and unprofessional. I too have no problem leaving zero tip when ordering food standing up or buying products at a store. It’s like tipping your cashier at Walmart. You don’t do it.
The problem is….tipping was fine at peoples discretion, but typically 15%. 20 % or more if you got really good service. Then they added the ipads….this was a dumb move. It makes people uncomfortable…and some places you are supposed ro tipbefore youeven get to eat the food. Like take out. How do I know if its going to be any good? Again…put a jar out. Also,a lot of people have gotten cheap. I cant tell you bow many people Ive met who eat out all the time but dont feel like they have to. Waitresses make 3 bucks an hour. The tips MAKE their salary.
And restaurants are already failing with the high cost of food…pay your employees sounds great out loud. But clearly you have no clue what kind of revenue it takes to run a reataurant. Especially when your not part of a chain.
Paid $150 a person for whale watching tour. $600 total for the family. Getting off the boat the excursion lady was waving a tip jar in my face!! Ridiculous!!
I love Japan so educated happy folks I want it to tip the lady came after me to give back my money Here in the US people kill for money IT'S SO SAD We live in a rich country But people are desperate and poor

I hope she didn't
And they want 20% or more on a dress that was marked up 3,000% to begin with.

U SHOULD'VE SAID I THOUGHT THE GRATUITY WAS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE😂😂😂😂😂
Employees wouldn't be begging for tips if we paid them a livable wage.
The key word here is "asked."
If there's no option for $0, click "other amount," then hit "enter."
You don't HAVE to tip!🤷♂️

The Uscan at Walmart now asks for a tip??
But who are we tipping? Im literally ring up and bagging my own groceries!!!! Im just tipping the machine?
MY COUNTRY DOESN'T DO THAT
IS AMERICA THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT EMBRACES THIS CULTURE OF TIPPING
I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW THE HISTORY BEHIND IT
LIKE I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE FIGHT OVER THIS STUFF
IN MY COUNTRY EVERYTHING HAS A PRICE YOU PAY THE PRICE AND THAT'S IT
TIPPING SOMEONE IS A SIGN OF COURTESY IT'S A RARE PHENOMENA
IT'S A SHOW OF APPRECIATION IF SOMEONE GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND
AND ACTUALLY IN MOST ESTABLISHMENTS IN MY COUNTRY
PEOPLE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ACCEPT TIPS THEY LITERALLY HAVE TO DECLINE AND SAY NO THANK YOU
I think its just the system they use now has that option. Tou just have to ignore it unless it is applicable

And gratuity is crazy, so you are going to charge me for bringing more people to your business?
A drive through car wash!
She's right everywhere is doing this But you notice when you pay with cash They can't Flash Pad at you because you are not paying with a credit card
That's just disrespectful. You should have left them a tip saying you should not ask for a tip in a clothing store
Nope
Ahhhh Hell Nawww
I love Japan so educated happy folks I want it to tip the lady came after me to give back my money

I was asked to tip at jersey Mike's sandwich place you made me a sandwich like your supposed to and they wanted a tip
Don't salespeople still earn commission when they make a sale? The tip question is popping up everywhere these days.
