Didn't they ever hear of BOILING THE WATER and letting it cool on a clean container before drinking it ? Why didn't they ask the the British colonial governments for advice ?
Lovely narration, thank you!

I loved that movie. They were both fabulous actors. It’s fun to hear the back story.
Hepburn said that Bacall managed to stay immaculately clean the entire time. Bacall would even wear ivory silk pants as they were her favorite clothing item
It's a great book.
This is one of my favorite movies, I just adore Rosie and Charlie
I've seen that movie probably 30 times. I never see any scene in the movie that warranted a location trip to Africa. They all got sick (except Bogie, and probably Huston for the same reason) for no reason, suffered Army ants and other various discomforts. No scene in that film couldn't have been made in/on a Hollywood studio lot. Bogart is still my favorite golden age actor. 🎭🏆
If all that cash was available, what stopped them from flying out their own food n water supplies..?? Or buying at a supermarket..?
She also developed a serious eye infection after being in that water.
In the Clint Eastwood film, white hunter black heart 1990 goes into Huston disappearing off the set all the time, to shoot elephants, halting production.
It was such an AMAZING movie, though.
I love Katherine's attitude and sassyness. She was great in the movie, the African queen. My favorite movie.
It was a GREAT movie though!😉
i loved her spirit. When Barbara Walters asked the elderly Hepburn if she owned a dress, Hepburn replied: " yes, and I'll wear it to your funeral!"
she was one of the greats, and i loved her. (i read that book, too, loved it)
Not a Hepburn fan
