I was technically forced to be infertile due to what I think is racism. I think they saw I was native and legally they removed organs that shouldn’t have been touched. My doctors after COULDNT figure out why they did it without my consent. I had one child and I wanted more but they took that choice away. They took one of my ovaries AND the tube. Claimed a tumour (which it was proven to not be a tumour) was there and needed to come out. Apparently I could’ve waited another 2 weeks and could t had egg retrial in that time and then removed it. Or at least have a CHOICE. I have endometriosis and other surgeries that impaired my infertility. It’s so bad that my province will cover IVF and egg retrieval for free bc my infertility was caused by an OHIP surgeon. So that’s nice but still not what I wanted for myself. I want another child so bad. Ugh.
I’m Inuit. It makes me sad this is still happening to us in more subtle ways.

My great grandmother and her sisters each only had 1 child which is very rare for women of that time. Most had several children.
This is why black people are afraid to still go to the doctor today. This country since slavery has wanted to dissect black and brown bodies, like creatures. Listen to and protect black women.

Dear old Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, was a BIG proponent of eugenics & under the guise of helping women she successfully helped to control populations of "undesirables". The abortion clinics are strategically located in areas where the population is mostly African American, lower income…..yeah, racism that hides as "choice"
Watching the video of these young women is so heartbreaking!
To see the pain in their faces and their families faces is so devastating but then know that they were unable to say what they really wanted to out of fear!
Then you look around and say “oh we’ve changed so much” but really have we?
They were doing it without the woman's knowledge or consent, now they are doing it through manipulation and purposeful misdiagnosis.

Thank you so much for this story. I learned so much and am so very sad to be a human when things like this are occuring in our collective existence. Shameful, evil, inhumane, debilitating for the victims and just heart wrenching. As a mother, I just have to say that their mom should never have let her girls be unattended, especially by white doctors when racism was at its worse. The mother may have been ignorant to some things, but she wasn't when it came to having children and as a mother, we have an inate protection system thats called protection. That mother abandoned her daughters to whatever was to happen, I felt so sad for the father, because he was brutally confronted with the dire situation of his daughters victimization. The mother was negligent, period.
