  1. I still could never believe Reuben would fall for Thelma: they were friends, she chased him for years, never saw her as more than a friend…then boom, he falls for her after her class reunion? If a woman is friend-zoned that long, the guy never sees her in a romantic way…I know personally. But it is TV.

  2. I loved when the the Reverend would tell someone “My door is always open,” just as Frye would shut the door in his face. It was pretty clear who Frye saw as the real authority.

  3. I sure wished there were still great family shows like this nowadays! This was a great Classic! And I've had the privilege of befriending the 2nd Lionel from The Jefferson! He's such a sweetheart! 😍

  4. In the original promo commercial for the pilot episode of Amen Little Richard is shown and is mentioned to be the Choir conducter but when the episode actually aired it was another actor in the role. This has never been explained? Also in the commercial Sherman Hemsley is shown at a different angle while doing the jump rope sequence not used in the actual intro. ⛪🤔📺📼

  6. This was one of my favorite shows! I was probably the only kid back then to watch this show and 227. I watched with my granny and mama..literally grew up watching it!! It started when I was 11 and ended when 16. I am glad they stuck with Anna…because she fit that character perfectly. "She will always be Thelma"

  7. Barbara Montgomery [who played the sister with the shorter hair] also was on "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air". She was at sherman funeral when will smith had wished him dead and he died [for fake] and she said she was his "mistress. " lol also she played Khadijah grandma on living single.

  9. I left home 1988 to move to Germany, I was newly married with a 4 year old. We were in a different country and different culture. Thank goodness Amen was on one of the German channels. I felt so happy to have something that was home. ❤
