What I find too much to bear is when an educated African talk about reinstituting traditional practices, people are scandalized. "How can a university educated person resort to fetish?" But the same people have no problem with an educated African bowing before a statue with the image of a European woman and saying, ""…holy Mary, mother of God." They have no problem with educated Africans kissing a crucifix, using 'holy water', praying to 'saints' and using the rosary. Nonsense!
This is one of the few movies where serious attention and a rational analysis are given to traditional African culture and its values!
Watching Fredrick Leonard excellent performance from Kenya, I love his movies
