IMHO, at the time of WWs, Germans were dominating in most of scientific discovery & inventions (look at chemistry for example) but market was with colonial powers and Germans were not getting their fair shares. Both Germans and Allie’s were against Russia because they did not get cheap labour that was available in Russia but neither tzar nor communists did not yield to that.
