  1. After my 5th stroke, i became depressed. My neurologist, my friend called me to check up on me and informed me that I'm depressed and i need to see the neuropsychiatrist. I asked her if she's aware that I'm black (she is also) and that we don't go to the psychiatrist because of the stigma attached to it.
    End of story i went, was the best decision ever.
    But
    When i got there i saw another doctor i knew that i had worked with, i felt a bit uncomfortable, she didn't know of my CVA diagnosis.
    I was still an RN at that time.
    I said all that to say
    You're absolutely correct about what you said.
