  1. after I visited Goree and heard that the chiefs sold their own people out, unfortunately i didnt feel sad i just saw it as business. capitalism at its best. it was just humans had a price tag on their head. . plus it wasn't like the the Europeans didn't have inside help for 300 plus years. there were generations of tribal sellouts that aided this entire operation. And the church? why would any sensible descendant of slaves believe in the Christian God after all the captures beat your ancestors , tortured, raped and killed them and then they go pray in the church ,slaves were forced to help build, up the hill for a safe voyage to the new world. Make it make sense? I was just visited the island yesterday afternoon. i left with more questions than answers. The Island is beautiful though.

  2. There is a movie made in 1993 about a black woman who was a model. On this island “working” and the ancestors snatched her back in time. Powerful movie!

    Edit: the movie is “Sankofa”
