  1. I still don't understand which I'm supposed to use. The sieved soil or soil that remained IN the sieve. It was not clear. Or does it not matter? Thx

  2. Wow 😲 I've kind of figured that all of that soil was the same. But you just opened my eyes up a little more wider to the game. I appreciate you. You really broke this down about soil. Thanks for sharing. Tell me what you think about that soil that sold at Dollar general, Family Dollar and Dollar $1.25 tree. Is this some good soil that can be mixed as well like you did.

  3. So theres the cost, the labor to separate. They dont blend it all its the way things decompose. So the orchid mix and so on tajes more labor to make .

  4. Thank you! I was at a big box store recently, pondering over the various “speciality” soils, wondering which one I needed to buy. I walked out because of the “ variety” and the cost. I was about to blow off starting a garden. I’ll now go back this weekend and purchase the cheapest soil they have! I’m just getting started with raised bed gardening, it was going to cost me a fortune.🥰

  5. I sure hope you didn’t use any of the miracle grow soil on any plants you were going to eventually eat. Some bad stuff in those bags and in my opinion only suitable for ornamental plants

  6. I never buy potting soil. I make my own. I compost all my organic material. I add organic materials, to hold in moisture. My flowers, and veggies grow amazingly.

  7. Imagine the massive profit margin on one single mass produced bag and then realize they jack up the price 3 times a year, because of "increased costs".

  8. I live in Australia …not only is it wood chunks… the majority is sawdust !!! Unless you want to pay a fortune. I have always made my own potting mix with the use of a cheap bag of mix and adding my own stuff. Works wonders for me!

  9. Good to know I can just add some sand to it for my citrus trees. I’ve been so confused as to what to use in my huge pots when I transplant my citrus. I get giant bags of potting soil from Costco and we use them in pretty much everything – pots, raised beds, etc. and just amend as needed with compost and other organic freebies.
