A good and recent example of some of the things u are talking about…..when Covid hit scientists in Kenya (I believe) and some other African countries were excited to have an opportunity to showcase their years of learning by having a go at developing a vaccine. This however was shot down by their governments who viewed funding such a project as a waste of Money. After all, the West would eventually develop one….so why bother! Ugh! Could u imagine how proud all Africans would have felt if Africa developed their own vaccine. These proud moments are infectious and is exactly what Africans need to heal. Even if they failed they would have succeeded because they would have known their government believed in them and would have learned a lot in the process. So many of these African leaders just don’t see the bigger picture sadly.
