Just subscribed, I think there needs to be more conversation concerning afrobeats and how we got to this point of global recognition. Everyone had a role to play and while we praise artists like burna boy, wizkid and davido. We should never forget the likes of don jazzy, d'banj and tuface that laid the foundation.

i can see why don jazzy was sceptical about joining them kanye west. Kanye is only going to use them and end up hampering their careers, a la d banj, where is he now?

Don Jazzy was always going to go be an international name, he is a pessimistic and Melancholic person I think. Will to take all his time to build for the best preparedness. Now he I international and his artists are too.

Great vidéo. Kudos. Personally I think dB was the eventual loser but I guess it was fun while it lasted. We didn't get much about the Kanye curse though.

The duo made music that was legendary and timeless. In the end, dbanj took the fall, and jazzy soared. Now, Dbanj seems to have made a comeback with Since04. Good luck to him

Djazzy was the brain behind that crew, obviously. Still in the game while Dbanj is faded

For me Don Jazzy move sustained Afrobeat… Going to America might drown the Afrobeat vibe…And we will not have some artists blossom…Wande, Tiwa, Koredo, Dr SID, …etc

Afrobeat and its understanding has a face over simplified appearance because Don Jazzy and the earlier player looked like they did start it…..story of what is Afrobeat today missed lot of Music business executive that were railroaded, robbed and lost livelihood. The path explore now was always there.

That was wise! That's why he is the Don. Don't sacrifice the known for the unknown.
