  1. I am a single man, so I needed to break it down before I head to the shop and get what I need.
Here is what I wrote. Feel free to correct me if you think I missed anything, or if I am wrong:

    – put water in a large pot
    – put two large onions sliced in half inside the pot that contains the water.
    – add salt and black pepper
    – add a few cardamom pods that have been opened already (with the shell)
    – add a pureed tomato
    – make the entire thing boil
    – once boiling, add some lean meat
    – bring the water to medium low heat, cover and let it cook between 30 – 45 minutes.
    – Take the frozen molokhia out of the freezer, and put it inside a dish (to be done 30 minutes before you will need it so it can thaw a little bit)
    – add minced garlic, and coriander powder to the molokhia
    – take out the meat that was boiling in the water, and reserve it in a side dish for the time being.
    – take some of the water stock that was boiling, and add it little by little to the molokhia, until you get the desired consistency.
    – pour the molokhia back into the pot, and resume cooking it on low to medium heat
    – in a pan, put some butter or ghee, add minced garlic and dry coriander
    – when you see yellow bubbles forming in the pot, start heating up the pan with the butter/coriander/garlic mix, and cook until you get the right consistency and a nice smell.
    – drop the content of the pan in the pot that contains the molokhia. If needed, take some of the molokhia straight onto the pan so you do not leave anything remaining inside the pan, and put everything back into the pot.
    – mix well.
    – the molokhia is now ready
    – it can be eaten with bread, or rice with vermicelli
    – you can now brown the meat in a pan, with a little bit of oil.

Wish me luck, I hope it turns out like what I ate as a kid.

  3. I lived in Egypt for make years. Molokhia was my favorite meal! Wanted to make it and now I found the perfect recipe and easy instructions. Can't wait to make this. luckily I live in Brooklyn where there are soo many Middle Eastern grocery stores, so I will buy the frozen Molokhia!! Thank you!!

  4. I had this in London (lebanese versio) they kept the meat inside and the leaf was kept whole I think and was like a spinachy chicken broth. Still delicious!! Will try this version at home when I cook it myself.
