YouTube can be weird. My newsletter is a fun (and comical) place to get information. Also, Get my Free 1-Week Gut Health Protocol when you sign up. No strings attached. Just good info: http://www.thomasdelauer.com/gut-health
Really should look at real yerba Mate, from like Brazil or Argentina or somewhere along the equator. It's got all of this in higher does plus Theobromine like chocolate and that helps calm you down, great for people with Anxiety.
Thomas, or anyone else here, can you please share with us what you mean by "unfiltered coffee" like you mentioned about Spain. This "filtered or unfiltered" could mean something different to people around the world. Cowboy coffee has no filter, is this what you're referring too? A French press has a metal screen that keeps the coffee grounds at the bottom but has no paper filter?? Many drip machines have some kind of paper filter, is this what your talking about when you say "filtered". maybe its just me, but filtered or unfiltered, needs a little clarity.
I'd like to think you're right, but your buddy @PaulSaladino says this about coffee on his website –
Coffee is made from a plant seed, a burned plant seed to be exact…
Some call it roasting, but it’s really just burning.
So, in short, coffee is burned seed water.
Coffee seeds present the same problems as any seed specifically, they too contain defense chemicals, like digestive enzyme inhibitors, etc.
In the case of coffee, one of the main defense chemicals is caffeine. No, it's not a vitamin – it’s a methylxanthine compound that you probably love, but that can also cause erratic blood sugar levels.
Most coffee is full of pesticides, acrylamide (a potential carcinogen and neurotoxin), mold toxins (mycotoxins), and compounds that block opioid receptors (which typically regulate pain, reward and addictive behaviors).
Is it really surprising that there may be serious issues associated with drinking burned plant seeds? I think not.
As for the “benefits” you’ve been told about, both observational epidemiology and interventional studies don't suggest any unique benefits that can’t be achieved through animal-based eating, fasting, saunas, cold plunging and exercise. Coffee is a clear net negative for humans.
Listen, if you are truly thriving, don’t change anything about your diet…
BUT I have seen SO MANY people find health improvements when they cut out coffee – I would be remiss if I didn’t share my ideas about this.
If I use a metal strainer does that count as a filter? 😨😨😨
OMG I’LL STOP DRINKING UNFILTERED COFFEE.
Maybe because drinking unfiltered coffee is like jamming your gut full of ground up shells…
What of oxcilates?
Wth is filtered coffee. The slop that comes out of the drip coffee machines?
Yum yum I love coffee ❤
Been drinking about 8 cups of coffee per day for the past 40 years, doesn't seem to give me a boost anymore…lol
Key word in the study is “among caffeine drinkers” was the line. I want to see the study matched up to non caffeine drinkers and coffee
I can no longer drink coffee. Could you make a video exploring that topic and possible causes?
You know, this is – excuse me – a damn fine video on coffee. I've watched I can't tell you how many videos on coffee in my life and this, this is one of the best.
Maternal great grandmother lived to 91 ate eggs, beans, smoked since the age of 10, some meat and a lot of coffee.
Maternal grandmother is now 86 and ate mostly Mexican food, cooked with lard and drinks a lot of coffee.
Paternal grandmother just turned 91, coffee and regular Mexican diet.
All enjoyed life and didn’t stress themselves out on diet fads.
All these videos are informative and sometimes entertaining. Folks, listen to your elders not strangers on YouTube or any social media.
F coffee, I don't drink it anymore and I feel amazing.
Caffeine can raise IOP, so glaucoma sufferers should perhaps be wary.
4 to 5 cups a day or in a lifetime wtf?!
This is pure comedy. Everybody knows coffe is pure poision. Most peoples need to go to the toilet directly after ther one cup and makes a hole lot anxien.
youtube doctors are more interested in beating the algos than providing good health advise.
I’m gonna drink coffee until the day I die lol
🧢
Please do a podcast with Bryan Johnson (@BryanJohnson). I would love to hear your input on his diet and longevity protocol and your agreements/disagreements and the sustainability of his methods.
Or it could also just be the cream/milk in the coffee/tea, I love the ignorance of confounders :/
What about decafe coffee? I had to quit drinking coffee because of some health issues but still drink decafe!
Absolute rubbish! Caffeine is a destructive drug in every way. If you have high blood pressure then you must quit caffeine or at least limit it. This is propaganda by a coffee promoting study!
Instant coffee isn't ultra processed let alone processed very much at all
They take pre-existing coffee, brew it, dehydrate it, pack it, sell it. That's it.
Thomas be prepping for photoshoot now 😅see the face lost a lot of fat
I'm not sure how I never came across this channel, but I'm glad I did. Subscribed!
Yet another fitness expert purchased by big companies. Every video is yet another advert for the topic. So basically the advertisers are creating the videos, not the presenter giving genuine advice. I wish there was just one expert who relied on their own subscribers for funding and not just doing paid for videos by random companies trying to sell yet another fleeting health product.
Certain Coffee and teas may be beneficial BUT – acrylamides, mold, Adrenal burnout, stimulant, drug, dieretic, ages your facecertain
Every video you watch on health contradicts the last one. I thought coffee and tea impair absorption of minerals and vitamins and are damaging to the gut. Now coffee is the golden illixor of a long life
They’ve been trying for YEARS to link coffee with some health risk (or ANY health risks!) I think this is because they want to legalize ALL drugs (even the most addictive ones) and a way to do that is to point at the widespread use of coffee as a stimulant, and saying, “Well, if we allow coffee because it causes (insert recent study showing that it causes some terrible disease), why can’t we just allow ALL drugs?”
ANY TIME SOMEONE “STARTS” WITH AN AD “ENDS” MY LISTENING. .BYE. ! ?
This is the problem with fitness influencers such as this guy, they read one study and are like oh wow and then do a video about it, ignoring all the negative effects. I gaurantee you a majority of americans are drinking coffee and still dying. Coffee is an addictive drug folks, it causes dehydration, arrythmias and high blood pressure pressure plus it disrupts your sleep cycles. I didn't even talk about the chemicals they put in now a days that cause cancer and heart disease as well. The benefits do not outweigh the negatives.
This channel is crap you just pump out any new study or article giving conflicting advice I can take care of my own health goodbye
Sounds like a nonsense study. I guarantee it was funded by Coffee growers.
I'll teach you man. When you drink unfiltered cofee, tou dont use a cloth filter. So you have less bacteries. Such bacteries that helps your system at all.
I read that coffee is 'mostly and solely the only source of antioxidants", for Americans in the standard American diet.
And yes, I drink pure coffee (instant). American roasted coffee is burnt to a crisp making it bitter; Pro oxidation.
Is it coffee, or caffeine that does it?
It is a balance. Coffee is good in the right balance. Big companies likely do major studies on their products to increase the lifespan. McDonald's wants those old people sales so it would make sense to make food so that they can maximize lifespan and make money. Same with it. My personal favorite is the Jack Daniels coffee where it is infused with whiskey. It has a good flavor.
It seems that everything i consume that was seen it thought to be bad is now all very good. No alcohol though. That stuff is pure crap
The big problem with coffee is that most people drink it sweet. I am convinced that coffee is healthy but without sugar or milk please!
Is NESCAFÉ good?
I've heard paper filtered coffee removes a chemical that can lead to a-fib problems.
“Included paid promotion”. SELL OUT ALERT. Drink beer and coffee ! You’ll live past 100 ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The caffiene industry is a multibillion dollar one. Much like the tobacco industry. Caffeine is a drug, with millions of people dependant on it. I always wonder how much bias these studys have, and whos funding them. Coffee is one of the biggest source of acrylamides in peoples diets, some real nasty compounds. As with any addictive/dependance forming compound I would say its best not to even use it at all. At work plenty of people are tired and exhausted without their daily fix of caffeine while ive been fine and energized right after getting out of bed.
100% correct….coffee = energy to stay ACTIVE
I STOPPED MY MORNING COFFEE. IM DRINKING GREEN TEA NOW
Fake garbage shit. Dont believe everything you see in the internet. Rather believe in normal peoples testimonies/experiences in coffee.
