Dyson Daniels is a wayyyyy better defender than Murray. This is not going to go as well as Pels fans think.
Dyson Daniels is such a better fit on this team. No disrespect to Murray I think he is one of the best point guard in the NBA, but damn he is not a good shooting guard at all and it was really bad next to Trae Young. Dyson Daniels is such a better fit. Getting just Dyson Daniels straight up for Murray would have made this team better. Getting two firsts Dyson, Larry, EJ and Cody Zeller was a good haul. I think Murray will be much better off getting to play PG again and the Hawks should have a much better roster now that may even be able to stop people on defense.

Personally I think the hawks overpaid for him. That's about his value, there have just been some hyper inflated trades the last three years.
The lock down abilities of Murry & jones defensively( both 300+ steals in the last few seasons), will make the pelicans top 5 defensively. I could see them playing those passing lanes and creating havoc on the wings. Defense 🔒 🏀👋🏾!!!

You are vastly underrating how good Dyson Daniels is defensively, lol. Remember, we were a bottom 25 defense last year with Dejonte, so he obviously just isn't a fit here. We also get the Lakers 2025 pick in this trade and Larry is on an expiring. Based on who the hawks drafted, it seems they're really driving the defense thing home which is probably why they didn't want Brandon Ingram and instead went for Daniels a guy who they wanted in the past.

It’s clear you didn’t do thorough research on this Mike and you only read the headlines. You are massively overrating Dejounte and underrating Dyson Daniels and his defense at the age of 21. Add two first round picks on top of that have a high chance of being lottery picks.
The Hawks traded Gallonari, 3 first round picks, and a pick swap for Dejounte.
We got Larry Nance, Dyson (a former lottery pick), and two first round picks for him from the Pelicans.
I guarantee you we come back to this video in 2-3 years, Dyson is an all-defensive team level player and the Dejounte and CJ McCollum experiment ends in flames…

DJM was in ATL for 3 years and we were a play-in team all three. He simply didn’t make us better. And for ANY idiot, fan or otherwise, to say he’s better than Tre: we literally went 14-14 when Tre was out—how’s that “better?” As for as the trade: it’s hard to get value in a trade when EVERYONE knows it’s not working and you need to trade. I’m just glad we got something in return….
Zion's immaturity getting ready for the season & Brandon's refusal to play through minor injuries plus never getting an athletic big (Jaxson Hayes doesn't count) is the reason the Pelicans never went further in the playoffs.
I hope that Zion is serious, BI is traded for a starting caliber center plus bench pieces or picks.

Dyson Daniels is most def the make or break of this trade I could see it working out for him because the pelicans wouldn’t use him and Murray was obviously to much of a ball hog to play with Trea so I actually think Atlanta was thinking they were fucked before the trade and after picking up the pick this year they decided to get to wrk the Atlanta team that made cf shouldnt of been broken up it shoulda been added to they totally ruined Gallinari career he was starting material for them
