The Most ADDICTIVE Street Food In Egypt

These incredible sandwiches made in Egypt, contain juicy seasoned meat, that is cooked inside of the bread. The result is a flavourful, moist and incredibly juicy sandwich that is super addictive

  1. So when i went to Egypt we had a guide for the trip who took us to these overrated restaurants and we weren’t impressed by the food in Egypt thus far. But then we ditched the tour guide because they’re overpriced and not necessary and on our 2nd day got some of these. Mind blowing. We ate so well the rest of the time we were there.

  2. Food should bring peace to the world, how can so many countries not get on when there is food like this that comes out of them? Comeon
Subscribed so I can move away from South East Asian and up a bit 😂😂👍

  3. Good recipe but I suggest trying methods to save parchment paper e.g. by using one sheet for multiple, or just simply baking them on the pan instead of in the oven. Using a lot of parchment paper is a big downside to any casual recipe

  4. Thank you very much for the recipe. I always wanted to make it at home. I never saw it being made, as it is mostly street food that my Mother never allowed us to have for fear of the meat quality… There was only one place years after that made them and I finally tried it as an adult after rave reviews and I am hooked ever since … Thank you 🙂

  5. My sister had ingredients off the poor people of Egypt and in the ingredients there is Pearl barley and lots of spices and they make it to taste like meat as so poor to buy meat but it’s tastes great, and when desperate for meat they said they go searching for snakes, also my sister had cakes delivered to that family and they have never tried them before and their lil kids loved them and one day again we will have some delivered to them again also it’s an hours drive from Cairo where the shop is to their home but it only cost her about £8.00 with delivery and it’s was something different for the Egyptian family that don’t have hardly anything.

  6. never ever grind the onion, just chop it into small pieces and mix it with the meat. Grinding the onion finely will give you a compact and firm piece of meat, which is not desired when making hawawshi

  7. Look great!
But which meat should I use? I like the look of the lamb but you say beef is traditional?
And cheese – yes or no? And if yes, which cheese is best?

    Thank you.
