THE MANY FACES OF MODERN NAIROBI (Kenya Documentary)

We get to know the many faces of modern Nairobi, Kenya — a complex and beautiful city of 5 million and growing. The economic powerhouse of East Africa, it’s still a place of blatant inequality and the friction that comes with it. But Nairobi isn’t just its struggles. 1. she's traveling with security, cameraman or she'd be assaulted, touched, insulted, spit on, robbed, etc. several times traveling around Nairobi as she does.

  2. Why would she ask a white man who lives in Kenya vs a Kenyan how they feel about the Chinese in their country. I will tell you it has caused a great deal of inflation.

  3. This is a really well done video, quite a departure from the norm. I watch a lot of videos about Nairobi and Kenya, and nearly all that I've watched adopt the vlog format. It was quite refreshing to watch one that has a documentary approach for a change. Really well done!

  4. Wow.. One of the best documentaries Ive watched. You deserve an Oscar or Pulitzer for Documentaries if you know what I mean. Very fair representation of our lifestyle here in Nairobi. Karibu Kenya!

  5. This felt like a collage student project. Very cookie cutter—— show people in the slums- show rich people- show food- show shopping- show partying. You haven’t found your voice yet as a storyteller. You’re telling the story everyone expects you to tell. If you’re going to stand out in this saturated filmmaker industry, have a strong point of view. Make a connection. Even if you are just telling one storyline. Make it personal. This was not personal. Generic. Typical. Sorry.

  6. You have tried too much to represent kenya as bad as you can make, digging out all the negative,

I can show you a thousand dirty places in your country which you and your media doesn't want to show.

Europe, America, Asia, all have a second hand shops, from a dead one as you expressed!

No matter how much you try to be systematic, it is all shown on your video

  7. Just back from Kenya. Bummed I missed riding in the matatus! But glad I got to spend some extra time in Nairobi. It doesn't get enough credit! I hope to go back sooner rather than later to film a market tour and cooking class. Loved our time there!

  8. Hey @Dotsonamap I noticed your comment about people in Africa eating with their hands. While it's true that this is a common practice in some African cultures, it's not accurate to say that everyone in Africa eats this way. Africa is incredibly diverse, with 54 countries, each having its own unique cultures, languages, and traditions. Eating habits vary widely across the continent. It's important to avoid generalizations and recognize the rich diversity of traditions and practices in Africa. pls expand your horizon.

  9. As a Kenyan living in UK, Second hand items are sold in charity shops, though they dont use term as : ' discarded clothes' rather ,' items once loved'. They sell at good prices at the charity shops.

  10. I have watched many videos of Nairobi & Other African cities & I have noticed that whenever its done by a white person they Tend to show the slums, the homeless, the unsafe areas and when they show development they want to credit it to the Chinese and not the Africans just like this vide.
But when Africans or African Americans do their videos they show more of the posh places, the high standard hotels, the good infrastructure, they shopping malls etc.
    🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ I’m just saying
