THE LINE is Growing FAST! Construction Update 2024

This is the world’s largest construction project, and also one of the most controversial. NEOM, four letters that reflect the inordinate ambition of one country: Saudi Arabia. A huge region in the north-west of the country, where futuristic cities are due to spring up. The Line, Oxagon, Trojena, Sindalah and other new locations that was…

  1. People who think their countries are the best and most beautiful on earth will always criticize innovation and futuristic constructions in one way or another out of pure envy and racism.

  2. The rich need more homes and don't forget they don't even have to go grocery shopping or even think of groceries hell they don't even have to walk to there cars because the car comes to them or it's in some kind of hot wheel lazy Susan or elevator 😢they make me sick 🤢

  3. That "Line" looks so discordant. Epicon looks ugly, horrible sharp angles…brrr… it is a Si-Fi horror. Other projects are nice, look cool, specially Leyra and Sirana and eco-friendly. I am just wondering, where they would find so many millionaires to occupy those wonderful yet-to-be-built hotels???

  4. In October 2022, Shadli, Ibrahim, and Ataullah al-Huwaiti, of the Howeitat tribe, were sentenced to death when they refused to vacate their village as part of the NEOM megaproject.

Shadli al-Huwaiti was the brother of Abdul Rahim al-Huwaiti, who was shot dead by security forces in April 2020 in his home in Al-Khariba, in the part of Tabuk province earmarked for NEOM, after he posted videos on social media opposing the displacement of local residents to make way for the project.

  5. Just for comparison:
Just the concrete for the foundation piles alone (226mt) needs approx 27,5million tons of cement. (Whole Germany needs this amount per year.)
    That's 32 million trucks of concrete 😮.

  6. I'm a bit of a cynic and sceptic, BUT it looks both exciting and ambitious. I hope for success (as everyone should).

I'm sure many are thinking the devil is in the details, but at the moment, there are few actual details beyond promotional videos (so too early to have an opinion based on anything more than feelings).

  7. Linear cities and proposals in history (not a new concept at all) have never worked and neither will this, the technology for a transit system that fast as promised doesn't even exist. Not mentioning the tons of other obvious flaws in the project. The prince is just a dumb, murderous, rich guy that has no idea what to do with his money so he just promises crap like this.
