'The land was taken from kings and queens, not politicians' – Princess Dipuo Mthembu

SA Royal Kingdoms Organisation’s Princess Dipuo Mthembu says they’re campaigning for the land and dignities of the kings and queens. “The land was taken from kings and queens, not politicians… kings formed the ANC with one mandate: to get back the land… The ANC failed and betrayed these kings.”

  1. She has just returned from a Safari in the Kruger national park and stepped directly into the studio!

No knowledge about Public Relations – these are people who want to lead South Africa!

    Pathetic!

  2. "If you look into history", kings helped white people to take land from other tribes. For example, the Swazi we allies of the Boer Republic of the Transvaal.
Besides that, kings were giving/selling land to white people. Again, the example of the Swazi king who gave land of his people to white to serve as buffer between them and the Zulu attacks. Besides that, a lot of land was sold to white people

  3. What have the king done for us in these past years who are the kings, it not king who for this democratic country, as king theg failed to protect their kingdoms or foresee upcoming challenges n prepare themselves for a kingdom must sustain itself many of them sold out, infact as the country we were all affect by the apartheid regime as a collective we decided to fight for our sovereignty, why are you bring us backward

  4. yes, land was taken from kings and queens, but land use was taken from natives in general, including those small bands of people who were not part of kingdoms then. (though most of course are now part of cultures that coalesced natives under houses/chiefdoms that then became modern cultures/language groups of millions.)

For example, khoi was not a reference to an ethnic group or polity but a general European reference to pastoralists in the Cape, hence a broad generic marking on old maps all along the coast from West to East.

The then minor ascending house/polity Xhosa became the umbrella for the pastoralists of the Cape with the colony itself largely ethnically cleansed and people gradually restricted beyond the "closed frontier" along the Eastward expanding Cape Colony, (while this native reserve constantly remained part of the labour force for the Colony itself.)

Now before, pre-Colonial traditional culture in SA was consultative so people would break away (or re-join) if they disagreed with a chief, take some cattle and strike out on their own, creating their own leadership, though trading and interacting with other polities in one grand civilisational space. (hence the ability in the 1600s for a Quena/Kwena or Sonkwa/Sonqua in Saldana to tell the Dutch what the Xhosa house did with the ivory they had traded, namely passed it on to a Portuguese party)

This obviously became unstable once colonialism expansion threat came, and natives banded together under large singular houses.

SO a re-claiming of land has to be about the desendants in general too ( rural and urban) and not just extant narrow traditional establishments, though they do now represent the vast majority of the descendants.

Grand ceremonial monarchies as an organising principle do have their merits, if their organising principle is focused on organising its people freely for modern economic progress & social infrastructure and maintaining & driving institutions for such.

  5. Baie dankie sister van die Grond..Thats the truth and nothing but the truth..so help her God.. as my grand father always said the land belongs to the Kings Queens and The Whole of its Community..The Colonialist brought Poverty..Africans never knew that

  6. You can go back living in straw huts making fire with no electricity and cars, wearing traditional clothes, walking everywhere. See how you the again love whites and settlers

  7. You were not in a big part of SA, you were more north of KZN. There are history to prove. You had nothing like roads, electricity, good buildings, running water accept rivers. Why dont you appreciate what white peole has done in this country. You had no education or skills accept how to survive and eat. You didnot even realy plant much crops, just a little bit for your family for pap. Now there are shops to buy clothes, shoes, all kinds of vegetables and meat. Nou you like make up and cell phones and Tv and laptops and beautifuls vlothes and nails and long hair but you still complain and hate the whites and want them gone. Dont you see what happened in SA in thiz 30 years ANC governed it, go take pictures and movies before 1994 and see how this land is falling apart when you rule everything

  8. I now understand why the rand fell 2% in the first day of vote counting. We have seen this scenario playing out in Zimbabwe and we all know how that ended. Fortunately I worked for what I have and bought what I own. Ironic that she talks about looting and the founding members of their party are the biggest looters that were ousted due to their looting.

  9. Mr Jacob Zuma is chess master. He had a careful chess player. He is holding his card to the chest………….I admire him. He is well composed and he does not want emotions over take his political move and game. He have mastered the game. He is highly intelligent and a seasoned one

  10. Correction on your ignorance.

All land in Southern Africa were taken from the KhoiSan by bantu settlers from the north and european colonisers.
At least the europeans brought along new tech, knowledge & ideas.
