Located 20 km from the Sudanese border, the complex of Abu Simbel marked the frontier – the boundary between the great Egyptian empire and its borderland enemies. Both temples of Abu Simbel (the Great Temple, and the Small Temple known as the temple of…

You are so great i hope see you
irena what a wonderful job you have, everyone would benefit from the knowledge and brilliant way you share your advanced knowledge, these things are still stunning even though they are in the condition they are….master builders.
at a specific time of the day, the rays of ra shine through all the way to the back of the temple. ra illuminates the 3 gods while keeping ptah in the dark.
I’ve been obsessed with Egyptology since I was a child, and Abu Simbel has always been my favorite temple and Ramses is my favorite Pharaoh. Some time ago I looked for videos on YouTube about Abu Simbel, and there weren’t many to watch. Most just focus on moving the temple, which is fascinating in itself, but not what I was looking for. I actually learned a couple things in this video that I didn’t know because you were actually there in person to examine it. One of my biggest dreams in life is to walk in that temple, where Ramses once stood. I get goosebumps just thinking about it lol. Thank you for the video though, I hope you continue to make more in Egypt.
Black STATUES y'all suck. The truth is out.
I’m I new subscriber, just love to listen to your commentary, and really great camera work, you help me feel like I’m there with you, thank you so much for sharing, look forward to the next video…..😊❤
did it happened to you that the great Ramses just re-take the name already of the statues Egyptians were by no means able to extract and transport , also look at the faces and they do not resemble to the so called Pharaoh
❤💖💝
❤❤
may have been the greatest…..but was a evil tyrant
It's hard to believe humans built something of this magnitude at that time. Mind boggling.
Thank you your work is as great as the monuments you visit. You are greatly appreciated!!!
You realise that Abu Simbel was moved in 1968 when Lake Nasser was created with the building of Aswan Dam. I am surprised no mention of this monumental undertaking was mentioned.
Man this is fake! My apartments' kitchen counters and restroom and tub can't even stay intact and there indoors in air conditioning. So your expecting me to believe 4 stone statutes made out of rock clay stay intact out in the harsh heat outside? With winds and everything? Yeah right lol! Could of fooled me lol!
It's an amusing dichotomy how a site of such grandeur and immensity got its name from a humble boy who knew of its location and therefore had his name attached to it. You'd assumed that such a site would have a known ancient name, and no doubt it did, but it is lost in the sands of time.
RAMSES is corrupted form of Ras-Muse. And Pharaoh is Corrupted form of FARAH both names are of Cush origin and still used by Somalians today.

Love ancient Egypt 😍
Again very informative and good stories! I also saw the small chambers for the first time! Exciting! All documentation always shows only the portal and at most the anteroom. Nice to see the reliefs. And good camera work. Thanks for taking me there. 🙂
Thank you.
I always speculated that the Abu Simbel temples look like Tombs . I wonder if there was a grander purpose to these ?????
