This is awesome! Thank you for helping to educate us who may not have had a strong exposure to our culture
You look gorgeous, and so regal, my Sister. Many thanks for your willingness to educate us.
Absolutely beautiful video!!! I am so glad that you explained things so clearly. Sadly, some Westerners have so many negative misconceptions about Ghanaian (and other non-Western weddings). They also misconstrue the significance of the bride price, and they think that marriages won’t be blessed if they don’t happen in a church.
I love your content sooooo much 💓
5:24 our Kokoko for igbos 🇳🇬 is called ibu mmanyi( wine carrying) -Where the groom comes with his Uncle's or the men in his family to the bride's house to meet the bride's father to declare his intentions to ask for the hand of the bride in marriage from her father With wine as a gift. The bride and her mother are usually not present just the men.
9:55 Wait the brothers-in-law gets something to? Akan culture is generous.
What Ghanaian ethnic group is the host from please?
7:10 lol. The list for the groom. Igbos 🇳🇬 (my people) have that.
3:41 These clan names under the Akan are new to me. Good information.
What I am confused about, when watching the weddings. I always see 2 chairs alone. Do the couple finial sit on these to show they are married?
