The Gambia government redirects resources to help farmers

The Gambia is ramping up production of its most popular food. 80 percent of the West African nation’s rice is imported. So, the government is offering incentives to farmers to grow their own.

Al Jazeera’s Ahmed Idris reports from Pacharr.

Fragrance rice has been planted on the african continent for hundreds of years. In my village in South kivu(DR Congo 🇨🇩) we have always farmed rice, and we didn't need to flood the land or the Chinese. Actually it's not important to flood when planting the rice. But these idiots are replacing everything African with some foreign bs.

So what happens when all these farmers come to market at the same time and overflow it? Prices go down and the farmers loose their investment and end up poorer…
