The issues is terrible I agree. I think most look for the quick way to “fame” or “wealth” instead of doing something with their lives. Reality tv was the beginning of quick fame. People confuse being famous with being infamous.

I liked this video. Good editing, and I liked your script. I feel for the younger generations because at least when most media consumed was tv and movies, we knew it was fake. But the whole thing with influencers is that they are supposed to be “real” and “relatable”. Kids and teens would probably be better off not being on social media at all.

I believe that social media thriving has been brought about by the need of attention which is as a result of societal changes from the 1980s onwards. Children were brought up in homes where parents were working and didn't get enough attention so they miss the early attention and love that children need while growing up, creating a void that needs to be filled, which results in them seeking to fill the void by looking for attention and acceptance online. I know I'm 100% spot on.
I don't know why people feel they MUST be on social media. Dear reader of this comment. It's not a MUST to be on social media. Your life will be better without it. I came off all social media in 2014. I don't even have WhatsApp on my phone. It's a better and more natural life.
