Bad news for the corrupt police & government officials who abuse government power just to get bribes from Kenyan Somalis.
Kenyans should realise that Ruto is the wisest good leader of Kenya. He understands the problems that have been created for Africa as a whole because of how the European colonial masters (powers) partitioned (divided) Africa for themselves without caring or taking into consideration that they are dividing people of the same ethnicity in different colonial created boarders(Today these colonial created boarders are so called independent African countries). Many African countries have boarder disputes/problems because of this.
When the Italians & the British colonialists divided Somalia & Kenya, some Somalis with their land (North Eastern Province) ended up being included with Kenya(Becoming Kenyan Somalis).
When the Somalia civil war happened, some Somalis from Somalia were forced to migrate to Kenya, but mainly in the Kenyan Somali area (North Eastern Province).
Despite improvements happening, for a long time, Kenyans of Somali ethnicity(tribe) have been mistreated & subjected to discriminatory policies by Kenyan goverment; making them feel second class citizens & denied IDs & passport & other need documents including being denied Kenyan citizenship & forcing Kenyan Somalis to pay money (bribery).
While other Kenyan ethnicities(tribes) get easily & freely their kenyan IDs & passport, needed documents & citizenship.
Kenyan Somalis have to pay a lot of money(bribery) just to obtain IDs & passport & other needed documents, if they want to travel to the city for hospital or go to abraod for anything whether business or education, medical or holiday, they have to pay bribery, if they have NO money, they can NOT access education or travel within the country (Kenya) or abroad, even for hospital, otherwise the Kenyan police & government officials will lock them up. When IDs expire & they have to be renewed, the bribery starts again same process that involves mistreatment. So, corrupt kenyan police & government officials were benefiting a lot of money from alienating & treating Kenyan Somalis as second class citizens. Some of these kenyan somalis live in rural areas with no hospitals, people give birth the old ways with no hospital & even the kenyan government can't reach them, yet when they have to travel to the city for needs like hospital or education, they face problems with IDs, documentation e.t.c
By president Ruto making this decision to ensure all Kenyans are treated equally regardless of ethnicity including Kenyan Somalis, this is a good step for progress & bad news for the corrupt police & government officials who abuse government power just to get bribes.
But, despite these challenges with Kenyan police & other government officials, Kenya has been a good home to Kenyan Somalis because Kenyan citizens have been good to live with.

This rather backfires & creates a dehumanised discriminated mistreated group with anger that poses a security risk, because this anger will one day burst which they will be forced to fight back for their rights.
Ruto is cleaning up the mess created by previous Kenyan leaders because Ruto understands & knows that the Kenyan government needs to stop mistreating Kenyan Somalis & discriminating them socially. While Afriacns have accepted current colonial created boarders, they must ensure equal treatment & equal rights & participation for their citizens. Kenya is making a progress in this direction.
