  1. We (my Family) were Blessed to travel to Santiago and spend 8 days in Praia! Besides the fulfillment of returning to where my Grandfather (Joao Varella) was from, it felt awesome to see where our roots originated.

  2. Very good documentary on the Cape Verde Islands. A wonderful insight into it's geography, history and it's people. Cesaria Evora must be one of it's greatest singers. Love her music.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  3. Unfortunately,Sal the most popular island ,has become a mass tourist destination in winter, bringing with it all the worst aspects ,including theft, prostitution, drugs and antisocial activity..Beyond the main pedestrian street in Santa Maria, you will find a growing litter and garbage problem, together with a ..wild uncontrolled dog population .What you see in videos and magazines is a highly sanitised version of reality..This is a paradise lost with only the beaches perpetuating the myth of a paradise.

  4. Amazing to see we all share the same rich African culture in the Caribbean from the food carnival and the creole language it's absolutely marvelous our African heritage lived within us no matter where we located in the diaspora

  5. Overall the documentary did a fine overview of the Cape Verdean people, their culture, way of life and the differences between the islands. However why was Brava not included?? It may be the smallest island but its inhabitants are the most humble and friendliest. Brava is also the home of the great poet Eugenio Tavares and singer Armando DePina. Djabraba ‘N Ca Negabo.

  6. It's beautiful pristine beaches makes one just get lost in natures beauty the people n friendly live life to the fullest great luv cape Verde it's awasome for surfing n kite flying too. Enjoyed watching ❤😂I'm an indian.

  7. My first exposure was 23years ago on a flight from Dakar. Right after take off the pilot announced a fuel stop in Cape Verde. We all pulled out maps to see where this was. Sadly we couldnt leave the aircraft. I had never heard of the islands.
