  1. Our food sucks and too many places require you to have a car just to do basic shit. Like nyc doesn’t seem to have as many super big people as the rest of the country

  2. Oh great…another it is bad to be overweight news story…Why not answer the question why Journalists?

Have you looked at how much sugar and trans fat is hiding in SAD? You're covering up for the food industry that prioritizes profit over health.

  3. Instead of taking this issue seriously, we now see an entire economy of people, dietitians even, telling people morbid obesity is perfectly fine and even desirable. I don't see the news reporting on that misinformation circulating on social media.

  4. Obesity requires a total lifestyle change that is hard…its not as simple as eating less and being more active. Many obese people need to change psychologicaliy before they can change physically.

  5. It is 100 % wrong. The outset. To blame the customers. It shows the report is financed by the food producers. The solution is non malignant. Reintroduce proper nutritional knowledge. Tax the obesity inducing products. Put that tax back on the shelf 4 poor families to afford non obesity generating food. The industry can still make money on the new better foods and then increase own happyness-index as they look at a healthy population, in Addition to not need to feel guilty anymore. Who dont want a more sexy shiny population?.

  6. Its also a household culture thing. I've stayed at others peoples houses only to be shocked at how food is the center of their lives. They eat whatever they want when they want with no second thoughts. If you grow up in that culture you think nothing of it.

  7. I have several friends that for whichever reason (studies, promotion, etc) ended up moving temporarily or permanently to the U.S. ALL of them went mysteriously from skinny to pigs. There’s definitely poison in U.S processed foods!!

  8. This may not be popular. But its facts. Aside of some people who were born with issues. Most of the obseity problem is because most people eat fast food grease sugar soda fatty foods. Just terrible eatung habits..and they do it all day. And to make it worse. They dont workout. Then they want to blame the world for there condition. No its your fault. Eat 1 plate of food instead of 20 plates in 1 day. And go get in shape instead of doing arm curls with the refrigerator. I mean sounds mean but its true. I dont feel bad at all. Nope.

  9. Even slight calorific excess may gain weight. Some brains, it's thought, such as on the autistic spectrum, feel a need to eat more. Weight is lost by significant food reduction, *which, if you're not careful, can be dangerous*. At seventeen, by counting calories, I lost five stone – however, some nights, I forced myself to go hungry. I can't advise how safe this was. Exercise alone doesn't burn enough calories for weight loss.

Rob Grant's "Fat" (2006) says as much as forty extra pounds can improve life expectancy; that cholesterol can't actually enter the bloodstream, and that epidemiology standards have lowered to a point where just about anything can be "proven" to cause just about anything else. Save for extreme cases, the scaremongering around obesity seems dubious.

  11. Because Americans are not well educated in dietary nutrition. Secondly it’s been a long standing bad habit passed on from generations in eating highly processed foods.

Thirdly it’s the big corporations offering no healthy choices but rather going after your money with tempting unhealthy foods.

Lastly big Pharma is happy to reap billions off the misery of many so it’s a very well constructed vicious cycle affecting that nation.

  12. It appears that the food industry in in collusion with the medical establishment. It’s not a matter of will you get cancer it’s a matter of when, sad state of affairs but the profits lie in the continual treatment not the cure.

  13. The key is to eat home cooked meal. There is nothing more healthier and economical than making your own meal. Avoiding refined flour, sugar and excess salt. Cooking a simple has now become a very important and a life saving skill for most of us. As a general rule "Avoid eating out" and "at home do not eat anything directly out of a packet". I follow this.
