I speak perfect German and my class always wondered how it is an African speaks as well as i do, and not like an immigrant.. i never got picked and started to withdraw from class. They ralk to each other and am used to the other prejudices since they cant jab at my brain.. they start to say how black people are some kind of way.. certain topics i switch off my thinking.. when you gsve good grades, they are surprised and say teachers favour you but am convinced these german women would fail me at the smallest mistake. Seen many broken black men, handsome but no confi in europe.. they are lie beta males.. we need africa in europe for africans
You're right, sometimes they'll pretend they can't hear you or understand you. This is a form of racism π’. I've lived in America for so long, I'm very familiar with the way they think. If we have to struggle to understand them, they have to try and understand us too.
This is so relatable. I'm a professional librarian from Kenya, working in America and I'm constantly having to explain technical terns to coworkers and customers. My accent always trips people up. Sometimes when they here my accent, they automatically assume I don't know what I'm doing and tune me out until I prove myself. I also have to keep repeating myself. It's really affected my self esteem.
Small talks are so necessary. They help with understanding the culture and help with your professional growth. So any how my English be them go gats take am like thatπ
