Yep, unfortunately this does happen when you’re working with insecure people. It hurts when your own sets you up much less not stand up for you. Sickeningly. And corporations will lie in preparation of going to an employment tribunal. But the blessing is it pushes us to stand on our own, not rely on anything and plan to secure your future by other means. There are too many broken people walking around, it’s easy to get cut!
You are one of the best guys a person can associate with. .
My favorite Phrankleen video here!!!🙌🏿
Cup of tea you say with a black person hell no they dont even say hi when they saw you on the street, but they run to say hi to white people, why are we so bad to each other, I am from Jamaica and they dont like each other at all, they would turn you over to authority at the drop of a hat, I have never
I phrankleen
Nice one bro
It is sad that we’re our own enemies😭😭😭😭😭Bob Marley told us to unite but we didn’t listen. So sad
Wow, I would have turned into a Tyrannosaurus Rex to support this woman if I was her colleague, regardless of my wages. This is how people end up Section 3 under the MHA on an acute or PICU ward. Damn.
Phrankleen you are 1000000% right.
Awesome
Although, people do have a right to defend themselves and confront the person, when it comes to co-workers (and maybe passive aggresive in-laws) I look at things a bit differently. Frankly, I don't even think I would have humored those individuals that were making fun of me to begin with. Some people just have their own personal issues or FALSE sense of entitlement, and have to take it out on somebody to feel bigger and better and more important. It makes them feel good to know that what they're doing is getting to you…and I'm just not willing to give those individuals that type of attention or energy because unfortunately, this (her situation) is how it can turn out and besides, their point of view and opinion does not change my self-worth or self-esteem. Their whole purpose is to attempt to make someone feel "less than" especially when that particular person appear to have more potential, and everything else about the person looks bigger and better compared to themselves. They can't figure out how someone that stereotypically should not be in a certain position or appear in a certain way (pretty, well-dressed, well-spoken, highly educated, married to a man that takes care of her and their children, etc.) can actually be and or appear better than they are. That's my perspective on that.
Lessen learned, I think her mistake was telling management about her meeting with HR to begin with. NEVER show your cards until it's time to put them on the table. These are the type of management teams that you just DON'T SAY MORE THAN YOU NEED TO…business only in regards to the task at hand. Next, the moment the management approached her about her mood, I would've had to be a great actress and just simply say "Oh I'll be fine. I don't need to leave early, I'm O.K." Nevertheless, any of these management situations require having RECORDINGS….the moment he begins with the twisted manipulation, I would've excused myself saying that I'll return because I need to make "a quick stop to the restroom/get water from my desk," and get my phone set on record and proceed. As he's talking with the twisted manipulation, I would sit in utter and complete silence just looking at him/her speak. USE THE RECORDING TO SHOW HR AND ADD DURING "THE MEETING" AND TO SHOW A LAWYER. Otherwise, all things considered, GET ALL REPORTS AND DOCS that HR files too. As for the colleagues, TRUST NO ONE to vouch for you….some or even FEW will willingly and voluntarily assist and give statements on your behalf but I can tell you most won't and they'll grant you "good luck" and a sorry explanation as to why they won't do the most basic due diligence.
And they wonder why people go postal!
Aláàfia Phrankleen. This is my first time commenting on your channel since I discovered you about a month or so ago.
I love you! I love your philosophies and your revolutionist/activist spirit.
Keep up the great works you're doing. I'm from New York, living in Atlanta, Georgia, U. S., but I'm an Afrikan. I'm a Pan-Afrikan woman. I love Afrika, fight for Afrika, and want to see Afrika rise and take her place on the throne.
I Agree with you on Black unity. Dr. John Henrik Clarke said "We have no friends"! So our main mission is to unite in every way. Especially in denouncing religions.
Thank you for your contributions to the struggle my Brotha.
Peace & Love…Odaro
She should quit her job and move on it’s not worth it. She’s in an environment where she is being bullied and no one has her back the paycheck isn’t worth it. While the other two black workers refuse to stick up for her the same thing will happen to them as well. When your working somewhere and there are only a few blacks they should always help each other and stick together. She could always hire an attorney and sue for workplace harassment.
Very common, my unmarried 50-year-old Ghanaian manager who I was working for bullied me so badly and was so jealous that I was younger and the day I stood up for myself she went behind to terminate my contract with the agency without notice and this left a bad taste for me..I never forget that experience even though it is six years now because it had a huge financial impact as I could not get a job immediately. I did not know much about recording evidence or even escalating with the organisation and as for the agency, all they were interested was in their contract despite the fact that I had reported twice to them that I was been bullied.
Phrankleen you are very correct and on point
My bro, you are so on point with the Indian unity comment. So on point. We Africans have none of that
U really hit The nail on The head.
If u dont what to hear him u dont have to
42:00' EXACTLY
Hmmmm, im sorry but the LADY is too soft💔🤔
I fought ALONE against anything in the white SOCIETY! And im FEARLESS thank GOD to make ME LIKE THIS.
To all AFRICAN
– get a lot of avidence both direct/indirect, audio recordind, video recording, foto's try to keep them long enough in their game for you to gatter much strong/stronger proofs…
– know your right and be BOLD but focus
– remember, the SYSTEM here works in your favour if you have proof
I TELL YOU THIS, IF YOU SEE ME fighting with a BEAR' pray for the BEAR!!!
Even JUDGES LAUGH and SHAKE their HEADS. My lawyer however end up asking me if i can work with them??? Because i got 4 different judgment with 12 judges with 5 lawyers at the same time. I sue for my right in all kinds of situations that need to be EXPOSED. For children sake, school, work/payment/discrimination/doctor… it gets uglier and at last, they try to set me up by getting some organisation to frame me up💔💔💔💔💔 as they TRYNNA give me something which i REFUSED to take, and thank GOD to give me that WISDOM😥 to not accept anything from any of them. Other wise medicaly should have been convicted of BEING retarded and unstable mother etc…💔💔💔💔💔 that need to be LOCKED UP with heavy mental issue bla bla bla… UNFORTUNETELY they did not know that not all AFRICAN are so soft, ignorants and UNNECESSARY HUMBLE, and extremely…
I don't talk much about the HORRIBLE experience, but it will be out as a BOOK… to open people EYES and EARS.
I have got offer for a new Job, with a year theory course and training, as becoming an independent coach for the social workers how they should EXECUTE their work PROPERLY vis a vis of their clients ESPECIALY the LESS PRIVILEGE 😔
But i have one eye OPEN, because all the PEOPLE i have met so far, are pretty much in🤬…
My vision is to seek and grant for those that are kept away from their right in any ASPECT!!! here in AFRICA.
The first line of defense is yourself, especially in America.
Know the icon for voice recorder on your phone. Record everything with anyone who gets into your work space. Secondly send memos to confirm conversations and verbal agreements with other emoloyees.
That's your protection against crying.
You'd be feared or admired but never disrespected.
The competitive jealousy stems from Polygamy – Most people come from homes where the wives compete for the attention of their husbands and this is also passed down to the children. When these people grow up in society, they take these competitive jealousy to others. We must all make a conscious effort to build rather than tear down each other. Get off the crab syndrome.
My instinct always make me defend someone especially if is black brother or sister. I will defend them until end of time..End off. I love my black people ❤️
I tell you this has happened to me that my fellow black African doesn’t want me to take extra shifts but when other races come it’s all smiles ,some black Africans can be very bad to there black Africans
It’s a shame especially in uk.
Karma is a B. 2020 is a karmic year. This is her opportunity to go to Amnesty International, make a report and file a suite at Queen's Bench. The whole thing sounds traumatic enough to warrant compensation.
Been there myself. Never deal with HR or trade unions. They don’t do shit for black people. She should have swallowed that bitter pill and left that job. Unless you have hundreds of thousands to spend on lawyers, your essentially fucked. Run, run and run to a new job if you are facing this situation- it’s the only way to handle such matters.
IMO its like in school if you get bullied and tell the teacher you will be seen typecast by all the kids as a tell tale.
Unfortunately there is only one way to deal with bullies and thats get the ringleader on their own to either verbally tell them in no uncertain terms to stop it or take action so they learn there lesson.
It's sad shouldn't have to be but that's the answer.
Self sabotage playing in favor of divide and rule theory. We hate ourselves for no reason. Even in our motherland, tribalism has limited our people. Franklin is right, if you see evil and don’t speak against it, then you are part of it. Well done Franklin
You are right, this is the problem when you are fighting the fight you get your brother mocking not understanding the gravity of the problem.
This is a problem that has been passed down from generation to generation.
Even in Nigeria you will be threated as a second class citizen against a foreign person as long as they are white
In other ways what you are saying is Do not put all your eggs in one basket . Years ago twice I was in the sister 's situation. The people that actually stood up for me were white.
My brother 👍
It’s about time black folks start working together instead of against each other. We as black people need to start relating better with each other. It’s little things like having lunch together at least once a month at work and talking to each other. Our mentality has to be, you touch one black brother or sister you touch all of us! The white folks are so terrified of our unity and will do anything to make sure this does not happen. We need to come together from the black cleaner to the security to the staff members to the managers. All it takes is being willing to interact with each other and realising that we are all related one way or the other!
Absolutely well said! The favourite words for white folks against black folks is that we are aggressive and attacking them! In my experience when you make a complaint about something like this send it right to the top. Go to your doctors and get signed off for bully and harassment to ensure you are legally taken out of the work place and connect with your most trusted colleagues. That way by the time the complaint is filtered down you are untouchable. Also please black brothers and sisters, join employment unions and black support networks at work!!!!!
Hello, Phrankleen Thanks lot I appreciate your effort bringing us real life experiences amongst we black.
However, permit me to say this before you love another black person or otherwise you as a person must love yourself first. We as black people or race don't even love ourselves how then can we love our fellow brother or sister. It's unfortunate but true.
Brother Phrankleen,
This story is representative of the current situation on the continent. When one country is suffering the other African nations side with the oppressor or refuse to acknowledge the injustice. In fact I would go as far as saying that it is even worse.
One thing I have noticed over the years, no one wants to be African or black, let me tell you why.
1. The East Africans (Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea) do not consider themselves like the rest of Africa, they think that they are of Hebrew or Arab descent, they absolutely resent the idea of being identified as "black" or "African", God forbid you call any of them Bantu.
2. Even in West Africa, look at the Hausa, Fulani, Mauritanian and Tuareg tribes, they consider themselves as descendents of Arabs (if you don't know this by now, log off) and therefore superior and separate from the Bantu people.
3. Go to Cape Verde and see how people identify themselves, they are "Portuguese" or "Metise" and do not consider themselves like the "Africans". Its the same story in Liberia.
4. Go to North Africa, places such as Egypt consider themselves Middle Eastern and the Libyans boast of Roman and Greek civilizations while looking at sub Saharan Africa as a different dimension (the fact that we even have this sub Saharan divide says it all really)
5. Now let us go to South America, again – the negro community would rather be called Purto Rican, Latin, Portuguese, Metisse but never you dare call them black or African
6. Let us go to North America where many blacks are calling themselves Native Americans or Hebrew Israelites, anything to avoid being called an African.
7. Same in the Caribbean Islands, from Jamaica to Martinique. Calling someone African is an insult
8. So that leaves the Bantu people of West and Central Africa. But wait, many of those who have travelled to Europe and America no longer consider themselves equal or the same as the typical African and would rather identify as Europeans or Americans, they hardly speak their own dialects and visit the continent as if they were tourists. Many of those on this channel can be classified in this category, whether we like to admit it or not, there is a sentiment of being other and somewhat more superior to our brethren still on the continent.
Now, who does that leave? And how can there be a united African response to any emergency when everyone group is claiming to be something else.
Speak well of blks….tell them what they should be doing instead of bad things we do….you disgust me…I'm unsubscribing!!!!
Whites self sabotage too!! Stop bashing blks…give solutions instead… We get enough of that
BLK Americans are under the williie lynch syndrome
This is why people of other race do not respect many black people, they know if push comes to shove no black person will have your back. I have experienced this on many occasions…
Clam Down For Where? This is very emotional touching message to me. Bless you. Thank you so much Franleen. Very well said.
Very important message. Thank You So Much For Sharing. Bless You And Your Family. We Have Got To Be Our Own Brothers Keepers. May GOD Help Us In JESUS CHRIST Mighty Name I Pray Amen. It's So Sad.
They create a storm but get mad when it rains. They push you to the edge of the cliff and leave you hanging. Story of my life.
can we meet over the phone? i am in london. we can work together
I really love this topic .It is always black against black even at work. We are always at the bottom end even within ourselves . We need a general change of mindset and attitude toward one another
How also can we move forward when there is no love between each other . If we are not careful we would become slaves even in our own motherland Africa if we cannot show genuine love . And to make this worse we call ourselves Christian and Muslims saying this are religions that should show love between one another
That is classic white office culture. There are several things she should have done ; I acknowledge it is exhausting, but I have learned the hard way , but you know what, experience is the best teacher!
1) before she ever complains, she must find one or 2 allies, preferably someone that hates these bullies for whatever reason, trust me, they can't all be loved.
2) you MUST have proof- monitor their bullying behavior, know when they are hot n ready, have your recorder on, go into the lunch room when its them and only you and make sure the conversation is recorded…
3) repeat step 2 several times, have your recording ready… have emails ready as well..save it in a folder, email it to your personal email as well as backup
4) read company policy on what HR is supposed to do when they receive a complaint so you are not caught off guard
5) email her supervisor and HR with her complaints – IT MUST BE IN WRITING, complaining verbally is like you never complained at all. Even when someone approaches her and asks her to go home, smile , say oh thank you for the kind offer , ask them to put that in writing and email it to you – surprisingly, they most liky will not, or they will leave you alone
5) anyone approaches you to have a conversation off book, do it with your phone recording OR politely decline because you are swamped with work so you can't right now and ask them to email you whatever they need.. they most likely will not and will stay away from you.
6) HR INVESTIGATION – bring your trusted ally, white, black, pink, whatever shade they are… roll your evidence out slowly during the meeting, cry, be gentle, say how hurt you are, thank the HR people and apologize for being such a bother during the investigation – that same meeting, bring out your emails, when they say I'm sure it was not intentional, then say what about these other ones, when they try to defend that, say I have recordings, etc…. they will know you are not going away. Their tune will suddenly change. Say you cannot continue to work in such a terrible situation and you have so much more you can show them…. tell them you just want to put this behind you and never talk about it again as long as they take action. They will have to do something at that point…you have left them no choice.
7) investigation over – they will be exceedingly nice to you, capitalize on that, tell them you want to be a manager or whatever career move up you want, they will give it to you. They will thread carefully because they know you are ready. You just smile at them, never mention that, complement those other white folks (whatever is left of them), sit with them in the lunchroom once in a while to make them uncomfortable 😉😉
