The BEST Koshari in the world – Egyptian Vegan Street Food
Koshari is Egyptian Vegan Street Food and the National Dish of Egypt. I’m going to show you how to make the best koshari in the world. Better than you’d find it on any street corner in Cairo.

I’m not sure what I was thinking when I set out to make this, especially with a newborn and a toddler running around. But man did it pay off! I thought it was going to take a long time to cook, but I spent maybe 40 mins actively doing things. The chick peas were a great snack for said toddler and it felt like magic to put everything together in the pot at the end. Another 10/10 from my otherwise picky eater family. This is going to become a regular dish!
I had this when I went to egypt three years ago and loved it! i ordered it everywhere with my meals 💙
It is like our asian "Khichuri" but with pasta and red sauce…thanks for recipe I have some substitutes in my pantry but more or less the same things so will give it a whirl!
I'm reading all the effusive comments, often from native Egyptians. And I see that you truly are the best teacher with the best recipes. I assume that your MiL's daughter has something to do with that 😅
The first ingredient I saw was the ditalini. I don't like that pasta so I didn't think I'd be interested. Boy, was I wrong! I especially like the three sauces, most especially the raw garlic/vinegar sauce!
IMO this dish would be great with a light palate-cleansing salad like Alex Guarnaschelli's One-Pot Five-Minute Arugula Salad. I bought her cookbook based on that one recipe, and it was definitely worth it!
Wow wow wow! That was so amazing! Absolutely delicious! The sauces are really so flavourful! First time eating koshari for dinner and this is one of my favourite meals now!
KOSHARI is awsomeness
Are there any recipes to use the leftover tomato sauce ?

Love the details on your channel, wanted to request you to also put measurements according to cups along with ounces and grams, for someone who rarely cooks its hard to follow these measurements in ounces, keep up the good work
Just to say I make this recipe often and it fills me with joy everytime, thanks a lot for sharing!
I'm a simple man. I love lentils. I click on anything lentils, beans, peas, pulses, legumes -related.
This is heaven if you are vegan or vegetarian.
Lover your show Obi, God bless Palestine!
Excited to try this for Thanksgiving, though I'm worried about hogging all of the burners. If you happen to see this, is there anything that can be prepared the day before without too much sacrifice of flavor? Thanks
Is this dish supposed to be eaten hot, warm or cold?
❤❤❤ You are amazing!
My Husband asked for Koshari
Greetings from Jordan❤
I am making this – I hope it turns out like yours! I love koshari/Egyptian food
Koushri isnt a meat dish so its safe for any one to eat. Its good too I love it. Normally buy it from a street market in cairo. I never tried to make it at home
This makes me miss Egypt 😭
I am SO making this for my Egyptian cooking month.
