The BEST Authentic Lebanese Lentil Soup Recipe!


You will need:

2 cups red lentils
1 medium-large yellow onion
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (optional for color)
1/4 tsp sumac (optional for garnishing)
1 slice of lemon (optional for garnishing)

  1. Looks mighty delicious. This is very similar to the Turkish version. Only difference is I've never seen anyone use ginger and personally instead of using a blender I prefer filtering the mixture. That technique gave me the best results.

  2. This has a huge history behind. This is called Daal in India and that’s the origin country where this recipe came from, since India was a 100% pure vegetarian country long long time back, then arrived afghans and Persians from the Middle East and it traveled with them back to their country when the British arrived and they pushed back Afghans and all other outsiders from India forever, same happened with the Tea ☕️ the Brit’s took tea culture from India and in return they parted the nation into 2 countries India and Pakistan

  3. Thanks and what I like is you don't add tomato or chili which seems to be the add ingredients to everything. I like the idea of Sumac for that Lemony taste.
