the bbc is crowing about identifying “the Scorpion”, Barzan Majeed

But for every Majeed caught on camera, exposed and condemned in absentia by a self-righteous court in Brussels, there are others to take his place until the business model is broken.

  1. BBC sold him up to authorities after he accepted receiving them and talking to them.
So pathetic. And you call yourselves professionals?
Good luck with high profile criminals interviews in the future.

  2. I thought that maybe the BBC might have arranged for the police to be there if he has an international warrant out on him.Surely this assisting a criminal to escape justice so the BBC is complicit in obstructing the law.

  3. So people would be navigated away from the uk in the first place and then only the criminals would try to come here? Hmm I feel like I missed something and it wouldn't even be a quota.

  4. We have to do this democratically. In our constitution it is up to us the voter how many should get asylum and for what reasons. The law is made by the will of the people and is subservient to their needs. The law should not work agaisnt the interests of the British people. As for the narrow issue of detecting and preventing asylum crime, it would be quite possible to organise an international effort without aligning our asylum rules with anyone else. The international effort should be to counter those who break the laws of the member countries.

  5. Darn right Prof, stop the smugglers. Help people in their own countries…not forgetting that climate change is now a driver of people leaving their own country.

  6. These "victims" are people wilfully paying criminals thousands of Euros to facilitate them leaving a safe country (France) and to break into our country. We should not be allowing so many people to apply for asylum. We are over-populated as it is for the infrastructure that the country can support. We are full. There comes a point when you have to tell people to sort out their own country.
