Watching “Roots” back in 1977. I was taught about slavery in parochial school. But not harsh reality and the brutal legacy of slavery.

Based on historical accounts and contemporary depictions, King Charles V (1500-1558) was described as having a dark complexion, often referred to as “swarthy” or “black.” This physical characteristic was noted by his contemporaries and has been documented in various sources.

The French historian and philosopher Erasmus of Rotterdam (1466-1536) described Charles V as having a “dark and swarthy” complexion in his writings.
The German artist and chronicler Hans Holbein the Younger (1497-1543) depicted Charles V with a dark, olive-toned skin in his portraits.

Whatever trade or skills learned by slaves was not for their own benefit but for the benefit of the slave owner.
My daughter was taught in school that the Civil War was about the economy not slavery. I corrected her thinking immediately.

I am part of baby boomers so I started school in 1963. I was taught about slavery in junior high. I can recall there was some brutality in the books text. The rest in learn in high school and of course the T.V series " Roots", it came out in that late 70's after I already graduated.

The only reason they're trying to take many slave trade took place was because they figured they kill off all the native American people that were here that they couldn't turn into slaves and and they went over there to get them and brought them over here so they can do what the Indians native American people that were already here wouldn't do because they murdered all of them or they raped half of them and then killed them because they wouldn't do what they wanted them to do by building their countries are they went to Africa to pick up the steel the African people

What is the purpose of showing graphic sexual violence on your thumbnail? There will always be douche bags throughout history, that doesn't mean all white are responsible for the acts of white douche bags. The same as all blacks aren't responsible for the acts of other blacks. I think all you're doing is widening the divide amongst races in America.

It was the Israelites of the Bible that were taken in the Transatlantic Slave Trade… They're not "African". They were forced out of Israel in 70 AD by the Roman soldiers in which they fled through parts of Africa all the way to the west coast where they were captured.

    (Brenton Septuagint Translation)

Genesis 15:13 And it was said to Abram (by The Most High), Thou shalt surely know that thy seed (your children) shall be a sojourner in a land not their own (America), and they (their enemy) shall enslave them, and afflict them, and humble them four hundred (400) years.

Deuteromony 28:15-68 The Most High will return you to Egypt (slavery) in ships (🚢 🚢) by a route that I said you should never see (Israel) again. There you will be sold to your enemies as male and female slaves and no one will be able to buy (rescue) you.”

Slavery still exists today, more slaves exists now than ever existed in all of history. We never learned from our past. We never will.

White slavery was established until it was outlawed. Then Indians, then Africans.

So if the diseases so called killed off the Indians the name they gave them, why didn’t it kill the Africans? I don’t believe at that time they had the man power to feed the crew and 100 plus human cargo. I believe we were already here.
