30:08 This is NOT "world's highest sand dune." "Duna Federico Kirbus" in Argentina is the tallest sand dune on the planet. It's 4,035 feet tall — probably 4 times taller than the one in the documentary.
Fascinating! Well made. Thank you.

David where are you? I miss your films!
The reason as to why they dont count annimals esp in my Country its seen as disrespectfull. Its like asking you how much money you have in the bank. So dont ask Normads how many animals they have

My late father was there during WW2.I remember him talking about the rock paintings in the Lybian desert, snd flying over the desert and seeing what looked like the remains of what had been towns there.Asked him if any archeologicst had been there to excavate. He said not that he was aware of.Very difficult to get there snd other things.
You just know that lad is going to sell those antibiotics for the equivalent of a week's wages, then lose his arm in a month from then… Not exactly the brightest folks…
This episode 'Journeys to the Ends of the Earth – The Land of Fear' first aired March 18th, 2000… Since then, airlines around the world have engaged in what can only be described as a 'race to the bottom' with flight prices, meaning global tourism has absolutely skyrocketed since then. In the year 2000, most people still needed to go to a travel agent to book their flights, and airline websites were primitive and glitchy, and along with the much higher prices back then, this meant that most working-class people couldn't afford to travel… The era this was filmed was basically the last time he could walk through those streets without having to dodge Instagram influencers and other awful tourists from native-English speaking countries, or the Chinese…
I'm shocked at the lack of diversity frankly.
Sir , Can i have it as wallpaper .
I like this type of images much .
I clicked on this video to learn about the desert itself, as the title implied, not about the anthropology of it's people. These documentaries have been done ad nauseam.
Very disappointing.
Great documentary and a very current topic (Second series of SAS being filmed). Have seen both Martin and Bill's work before but this was exceptional. Held you interest, objective achieved and a very respectful culmination of the expedition. Keep it up "Boys"
This documentary shows how our ancestors lives in ancient times.
🤦🏻♂️ it isn’t derived from Arabic al zahara. It is from the Amazigh word asaher which means this place makes you very tired and in context it means this place bewitches you , because of the fata morganas. You’re going to see very weird things if you’re tired and exhausted because of the heat and the enormous distances at that place.
For those wondering, this was filmed in 1999 by Discovery.
Thought these type documentaries went out with the seventies… 🙄
No country on earth, no group of people on earth should ever compare themselves to these men, they are intelligent, brave strong. How dare some of the Western people try to demonize these people an their culture. Before I became A free thinker I use th only think of terrorism when seeing these people, that comes from being brainwashed🤦🏽♀️from Americans way of thinking, will no more. There is evil in all cultures so every one needs to always keep this in mind.I thank God for journalism an the people behind the camera, they bring us the truth an the real beauty of people it is especially important to educate people when it comes to my black an brown people. Blessings to all🙏🏿
