  1. This reminded me of my primary school life, getting to school by 6 am and finding 2 teachers at the gate. The used to beat us using torches as it was still dawn. In the same school, my sister in class 3 was beaten for not reading a sentence fluently at 7 years how on earth do you want a child to read like a form 4 student? This caused an injury on her leg that led to my mum stand out and fight until the teacher paid for his actions. However, in many cases, the parents are there saying that they underwent through the same or much worse in their schools back in their days. I believe that more should be done to help the parents in differentiating about discipline and corporal punishment. Thank you BBC for this eye opener

  2. Worst of all is that some parents actually report their kids misbehavior from home to the teachers, urging the teachers to discipline the children.

You can imagine how the teachers can be hurtless to such children, especially that they have permission from their parents 😢

  3. I remember when I joined high school the older students were beaten for failing exams by over 20 teachers. I swear bullying is not even as bad compared to how teachers take their frustrations out on students. Its even worse in boarding schools because they can do anything to you and control the narrative.

  4. I must say in as much as it's an eye opener you should blur out the voices of the ones who wishes to remain anonymous because anyone who wishes is familiar with a person can recognize them through their voice

  5. I am 1 of the person I went through all this type of copral punishment and today to be honest and to tell you quys the truth i really really hate this type of behaviour. Am not gonna tolerate that life not on my time not on my watch not to my sons and daughters..thank you.

  6. It’s sad because all those teachers they passed that stage to as kids and still doing that to modern kids ..that life was a horror grew up in the 90s in Kenya they should put a very tight law about it like do many years in jail n lose their certificates aiiiii

  7. Wacheni watoto wapigwe….siyo kupiga kuumiza but an African child needs descepline right from home. This condemnation has made no parents would want schools to be closed because their children behavior is out of hand. Teachers are also parents and any parents shielding his child from desciplene is an enemy to the generation.
