Iranian state media are reporting that an Israeli air strike has targeted the Iranian embassy compound in Damascus.
Several diplomats were reportedly killed in the attack.
The Reuters news agency says a senior commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammad Reza Zahedi, is among the dead.

The Iranian "diplomatic liaison" killed by Israelis? A diplomat and a liaison are both messengers between two opposing antagonists. Did this "victim of a terrorist act" sit down and talk with Israelis about ending the missiles raining down in northern Israel (that are escalating as of late) that were supplied by Iran?
