  1. Even though they must be more conversations on mental health like any other health issue! Please, parents, don't commit suicide and live that spirit ruling over your generation. And that village is cursed. Only Jesus can help.

  2. This people need alot of help. Fist they need to be helped economicaly, then to be able to speak especialy men i see they have that huge problem, i see that land is green they can work andatlist have food. If you lost a job today its not end of the world to drive you to kill yourself or become an alcoholick. My hubby lost jobalot of times and God bless us we are able to survive. Women don't be miss treat your hubbies coz they don't have job couse you didn't marry him for his job but simply becouse you loved him. In this world life is madeup of more difficulties and little happyness. If you put Almighty first in all your life, He will guide you and provide your needs. Something need to be done in that place so those men can have a place to work. God is always with us. Be strong men and feel free to talk, talking with others it realy help

  3. In African homes, mental health is very taboo and never talked about. I think this is also part of the problem, if were not talking about it, it doesn't give people the platform to get help. This needs to end!!!!!!

  4. That kid is smart but unfortunately we wont be able to see is full potential

Imagine how many more kids like him exist in this world…thats how progression is slowed down

  5. This was so hard to watch😭😭 May their souls rest in peace. Depression is a disease and should be taken seriously like as any other disease. The stigma and taboo about mental health has to end now.

  6. I really hope that kid at the end who fond his dad hanging stays strong for his family. He seems like a good young man. Stay strong brother and I hope you don’t kill yourself too. Things will be ok. Stay strong.

  7. Well, its obvious..the Kenyan Govt (read, thieves) is sucking our blood from every angle. If a Kikuyu is feeling marginalised in this country, i wonder how i'm supposed to feel. Confused af!!!Sick of being Kenyan😭🤒😭😭🤒

  8. This documentary reminds me that in the end of the day, whether Kamba or Meru, Kalenjin or Luo, Kikuyu or Luyha, Taita or Somali, Turkana or Maasai, Swahili or Embu, we all have one common denominator. We are all human beings, we are all born and we will all die, we all face challenges in life, we all have hopes and plans and therefore instead of allowing the elite few to shape our perceptions towards each other, we should all join hands and shape our own destiny, support and help one another, whether in business or agriculture, setting up community centres where everyone can discuss their problems and come up with lasting solutions.

It saddens me because this is how the country really is, this is Kenya today, and it shouldn’t be anything like this.

May God help Kenya, especially everyone struggling with Mental illness. 🇰🇪💯

  9. I lost my brother in 2012, who was just 24 years old when he committed suicide, I feel the pain watching this, can't control my tears. The memories still fresh in my head.

  10. Being in that dark place is awful! I know what it feels like to feel death is better because you’re tired of suffering.

I’ll share what helped me. Talk, share, and repeat. Crying also releases pain. It’s not just a male issue it’s a stereotypical thing. Even as a woman I feel that I show weakness when I cry, just like my father feels.

Also, I learned this from The Good Samaritans. If you suspect that someone may be suicidal, ask them if they have thought about how they’ll kill themselves. If they have a suicide plan, get help for them IMMEDIATELY!

  11. This community Needs a very serious cleancing!! There are three types of curses: (a) suicide,(b) incest, (c) curses spoken by parents to their children or from an other community due to some disputes that were`nt taken seriously before. In some parts of this republic particulary here at the coast,we believe such curses can destroy whe whole Family linage and its neighbours if not reversed. The village elders must seek the advice of the People trusted in cultural matters, as the goverment can only give advice but not the solution.

  12. Sad sad sad. We all have a duty to be our brothers keeper .lets speak life to one another and lend a helping hand when needed. „Suicide does not end your pain it only transfers it to those you have left 😰

  13. Guys this thing is real just watch Kenyan News and everyday there's a new story…it's a national issue I also suffered from depression since 2017 dropped out of University and stayed home till last year December and I got lose run away from home and on what was to be my last day in the world I decided to find my aunt to give her a note to my relatives but since she's a religious lady she noticed what I was going through and never let me go till I was reunited with my parents…basically I was frustrated by the university for playing around with my marks upto date I got the anger in my heart towards certain lecturers which keeps me away from college.

  14. Once again I blame the government, on this blood shed. I promise u, u will pay. The system is not working. People are struggling to make ends meet no wonder all this is happening. It really saddens me that the politicians are looting millions when the poor keep committing suicide. Walai I know u will pay. God is watching u

  15. The hypocrisy of our society. If some of these men would seek assistance to rebuild their businesses, they wouldn't get assistance. But their funerals are costing not less than Kshs. 100,000.00 which people are willing to contribute to.

  16. Look at that hut the first suicide guy was living in. No job, your wife left you. What do you even do in a day? Just get drunk and sit in your mud shack looking at the walls and listening to the rain pour down? I can feel that guy's depression.

  17. This is so heartbreaking to watch😔💔 I send my condolences to the families. I hope that one day mental illness will be spoken more of in Africa and there will be a change to help people.

  18. STOP CORRUPTION !!!!!

I want The GOVERNMENT to take a Look at This and tell me YOU aren't CORRUPT !!
EVERYONE deserves a JOB that is at least able to cover the BASIC NEEDS ..
You can Buy Votes but you can never Buy my Heart …
JUSTICE is just a word here …Only The Ones In POWER can" TESTIFY" this..

  19. May God use me one day to reach out and help such people. I know what it feels to be depressed and how easy it is to turn to suicide…the God who saved me, may he use me to save the rest.

  20. So very sad. We need to let people speak their truth. Don't hush away any voice just because of the stereotype that men are supposed to be strong. Every feeling is valid. Supportive communities and family might help bring down these numbers

  21. Growing up my grand parents did not have money their main job day in, day out was farming. God gave them rivers to go to to wash their cloths and dishes. I have experience a community that share some salt, butter, yam with each other. On a Sunday or Saturday we leave our home and finds ourselves in church or together with the followers of Jesus Christ. God was with us in the mids of poverty. God gave us joy and peace. We never had electricity we had kerosene lamps. Men! Men I beg you hold on don't give up for God has not given up on you. Did you not know that Jesus Christ says blessed are the poor for they shall see God. Have you forgotten that our King of Kind was born in a manager.

  22. for the first time I felt the pain solidly .Its so sad that this can happen to anyone and it hurts even more to see our people back at home who people in the city dont think about getting affected the most.
